Still got no answers for Rohit's partner in ODIs after this, if he does well in the T20s who knows.

No way can Dhawan be dropped for Rahul. Dhawan goes through bad patches but he comes up with the goods come the big day. Rahul had to have a massive series here to brute force his way into the team through sheer weight of form. He's flopped big time.

Dhawan should be exclusively played in ICC tourneys.

Think Manish Pandey should be in the Champions Trophy starting XI. That means one between Kohli and Pandey has to open with Rohit.

Miss the only win of the series, typical. Two evenly matched teams really, with India the more clutch.

And Ball bowled well again. Definitely an ODI bowler in him, needs to cut out the odd terrible spell.

Both sides have a very similar approach to ODI cricket.
Do they though?

England were amusingly bad for so long due to slowpokes like Bell, Cook etc and Strauss and the rest decided enough was enough and change their of cricket.

India have Rahane opening for them. I know I moan about him all the time, but its insane how a nation that are so elite in limited overs cricket, with so much resources always go back to this failure for flimsy reasons.

The guy has failed in pretty much every position he has batted and in many series it has been roads. Look at his ODI numbers, dreadful.

Most Indian's rightfully laughed at Pakistan for constantly recalling Younis, the Rahane saga is now looking eerily similar. Pakistan at least could justify it as they have idiots in charge of most things.

Think outside the box. promote someone to open if you must, but another knock out competition with this guy opening should terrify India fans.

Great batting. Reckon Woakes and Plunkett need to be dropped. Can't go into Champions Trophy with this bowling line up.
Wood will come back in if fit, his top drawer.

I'd go with something like that for the summer. Rashid's bowled well in LO games in england in the past

I think Rahane should be shown the door indefinitely too. There are a lot of things wrong about him as an ODI batsman but I kind of understand what the selectors were trying tbh. He's got a solid technique but just hasn't figured out how to go about business in limited overs cricket and I don't think you can give him anymore chances too but he's just such a likeable character than no one actually feels indignant when he's given more chances. Contrast that with a **** like Dhawan who has been blockbuster in ODIs but still has to feel that the gun is halfway through his throat with a 'couple' of failures.

Would be tempted to bring back Anderson, he should in theory play some 50 Over games for Lancashire early in the season.

Wood is overrated as a white ball bowler. Fast but gets tonked and hasn't shown ability to take international wickets consistently.

Saw highlights. 2-1 a fair result for the series I feel. Good win. Well done England - and well done India for the series win.

He single-handedly bowled Durham, a team which stinks at Twenty20, into the T20 final last season with some devastating bowling.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, was a bit heart breaking to see Jadhav come this close and then lose it, would have done wonders to his confidence had he been able to pull it off, but England deserved a win. Have played well all series and I am definitely a fan of this team, esp. their batting. Good that Morgan has proved his naysayers wrong again, thought his captaincy and his batting was impressive enough overall for such questions to be proven wrong. He is not the best in either department but he is good enough to be in the side and is best qualified to be the captain amongst the guys in the side. So, hard to understand where all that fuss was coming from. Predicting both sides to reach the CT semis if they can keep up their form and no injury stuff happens.

The English media, and a fair number of fans it is fair to say, are against Morgan for the Bangladesh decision - that and one or two other things like ''not singing the national anthem'' (well he's Irish!). I think the feeling is he is an outright mercenary.

His critics were certainly waiting for him to trip up here but he has deflected their stings momentarily.

Nah.. Nasser Hussain and the Sky guys were pretty fullsome in their support for him. So I am assuming it is more of a media thing to sensationalize something but I really do not see him being dropped or anything even if he were to have a bad run like any other normal player.
