International Regular
It's noticeable that it's our total lack of patience with the ball that is costing us here. That over from Boult is a prime example - bowled good dot balls before getting bored and trying a short one, which Shakib duly whacked for four. I'm wondering if it's caused by too much white ball cricket. In T20 cricket in particular, consistency of line and length is your enemy because it's predictable and allows batsmen to set up to attack it, and therefore you have to mix things up. We've forgotten though that Test cricket requires sustained periods of accurate bowling over a prolonged period of time, and that bowling plans can run over 5 overs instead of 5 balls.

Oh, and as I type, a wicket. Yay.

I'd love to see some data of just how many runs per innings NZ have leaked to the third-man in the last few years, Even Bmac wasn't a fan of having a 3rd man until which point it got ridiculous.

I've always been of the view that I'd rather leave a gap at cover or point and allow sides to score boundaries off good shots, than allow the opposition so many runs from false shots. I suppose it's one of those 50/50 decisions, I notice England captains traditionally seem to use 3rd man more than others, and Aust certainly do when it's start to cost them in that area.

Not Terrible
 Scotty calling Sabbir another experienced player when hes playing his 4th Test match and is 25 is pretty great. I mean compared to Shunto, sure.

Yeah, CdG bowled a half volley on leg earlier and I heard someone say "ooh, good ball".
Lol probably Watling, who also has that infuriating habit of yelling 'catch' when it's absolutely belted miles away from any fielder.

Jeez, that's two strangles down the leg-side off Tim Lucksee.

Some irony there for Shakib, unlucky way to be dismissed after a lucky hackish innings.
