This is so much a match where the scorecards don't tell the full story, yet you just know it won't stop people analysing it purely based off it.

Why does Williamson bother with those risky little pokes outside off when he's so capable with all of the other shots.
Specially with a couple of slips and gully in place and after getting out to it in the 1st innings.

What's the light like in Wellington? Is this part of the reason why they are batting so quickly - previous days have ended early due to light

It's still quite unbelievable watching the way this wicket is playing knowing we're getting a result.

This is not a result pitch truth be told, but it's great we're getting one.

Good god, people are talking like NZ couldn't fold and that the game's as good as won for them...

Any chance the weather could come into play?

Bowling pace at Williamson without it either being over his head, or too wide to hit, is just suiciding this match.

Cricbuzz is telling me the shoulders have dropped.

nooooo come one boys, you have been so good for so long. Final push. You need one wicket to win. Just keep pushing.

No, test cricket you never bank on getting the full allotment of overs due to the bowling team being able to slow down the rates, and also the wide lines/bouncer rules being in favor of the bowling attack. Bangladesh just aren't used to defending in this instance by the looks of things.

Based on his T20 form, Taylor would be far better off bringing the slog sweep out rather than paddling it around the corner with the leg slip in there.

Been an excellent partnership by these two.

All BD need to lift their spirits back up and make this exciting is one more wicket. But it seems like they've checked out already.

tbh so far it seems like people are going out of their way to explain away the realities that are contained in the scorecard.

I don't really get your insistence on not criticising Bangladesh for "poor execution" in their second innings. Being able to execute is a pretty core part of the game.

Sounds like a very slick effort from these two, which is one positive at least. We need them to rediscover their best so badly if we're to be competitive v the saffers.

Because BD are a side that historically, in all my time supporting them, fail due to bad strategy, meek surrender under pressure, and dumb decision making.

Failing simply due to poor execution is a step up.

They are also a side that has historically played for the draw from ball one. But since the recent South Africa tests, through the England tests, and now here, they have played with an intent to force the pace and win the game...it is very refreshing and very positive to see. I wouldn't have expected BD to go balls out on their first game away from home in ages and chase a victory. And ultimately they've fallen short because a few attacking strokes didn't come off, and a couple of their guys got injured. Ultimately NZ have shown they are the better team in this match and have rightfully won it. But the fact that BD could put up such a fight, and didn't go into their shell or meekly surrender when the pressure was on them...I quite like that tbh.

Apart from one KW nothing poke outside off almost a replica of his 1st innings dismissal, they've batted very well.

Pitch is playing absolutely superbly though, must be said.

It really is hard to believe we bowled them out for 160 on it.

Doull you complete idiot... the reason you tuck your trousers into your socks is to stop the dirty dismissal when a leg side delivery flicks your trouser leg and the blind umpire gives you out based on the noise made. That's **** you learn in highschool cricket, let alone international.
