Hey, you won't get me defending much about NZ's Test cricket in the last 18 months or so, since our 1--1 draw away in England in 2015, I agree we've been abysmal since, however even so, we've achieved 2-0 thrashings against both SL & Pakistan at home, which is better than Bangers best efforts of achieving home series draws. So as bad as we've been, we've achieved a lot more than Bangers in what's been a terrible time for us.What on earth have we done away?
Smashed in Aus smashed in SA and smashed in India... that too with our supposedly greatest ever side..
We'd probably get smashed in SL and Bangladesh too.
You can't use that term for both Ashwin and ShakibI see that the GOAT all-rounder has made his presence felt.
Why are you talking hypothetically about that when we just toured India 2 months ago?Geez if Shakib is scoring doubles against us @ 80, I shudder to think what the Indian batting line up will do to our trundlers
So are WI and SL minnows? They're on par with BD so if BD are minnows so are SL and WI atmHey, you won't get me defending much about NZ's Test cricket in the last 18 months or so, since our 1--1 draw away in England in 2015, I agree we've been abysmal since, however even so, we've achieved 2-0 thrashings against both SL & Pakistan at home, which is better than Bangers best efforts of achieving home series draws. I mean't in NZ on our roads..Why are you talking hypothetically about that when we just toured India 2 months ago?
We'd probably have let Ronchi/Santner score a double the way Ishant and Zaheer bowled at Wellington.****, if only we toured NZ after Baz was gone and Soult were bowling pies. Easy series win imo.
Zaheer wouldn't be around either though and Ishant would be the better versionWe'd probably have let Ronchi/Santner score a double the way Ishant and Zaheer bowled at Wellington.
Seems more flash than substance. Can't get away with things here that he could in U-19s.Nah, score 600 imo. I know he is rated as a batsmen but Mehedi Hasan has looked absolutely putrid in Tests so far with the blade hasn't he?
Agree, India would decimate NZ in NZ atm. Better batsmen, pace bowlers, spinners & captain IMO.Zaheer wouldn't be around either though and Ishant would be the better version
The side has definitely improved since that one and NZ has gone the other way
Yeah, I didn't watch his dismissal this match but against England his technique of walking across outside off stump looked interesting to say the least.Seems more flash than substance. Can't get away with things here that he could in U-19s.
But then again, maybe he's just having a bad start. Even Atapattu racked up loads of ducks early in his career. Too early to judge.
India would have a massive struggle bowling you out twice on flattish wickets (like this one presumably). A green paddock would result in a low-scoring shootout which could go either way.Agree, India would decimate NZ in NZ atm. Better batsmen, pace bowlers, spinners & captain IMO.
I don't think even green paddocks would save NZ against India currently.
shakib the original goat. Ashwin the new goat. You can't use that term for both Ashwin and Shakib
Pick one.
Wi yes, Sri lanka no. As bad SL are doing atm, they're still a force at home. As a matter of fact, SL just blanked Australia at home. No other team outside of India has done that recently. So are WI and SL minnows? They're on par with BD so if BD are minnows so are SL and WI atm
Heard them having a moan about Voges' double ton at the Basin last year, too. Carrying on like a bunch of 5yo spoiled brats in general, how embarrassing. The New Zealand commentators must have been taking Channel 9 lessons with all their declaration begging. "Waah, waah, If Bangladesh don't declare today and stop flogging us it shows that they don't want to win! Waah!"
