I know he is only young but what’s the end game with Santner? He doesn’t look like a frontline spinner and from what I’ve seen with him with the bat, he is more a tailender than genuine batsman.
He's not a good limited overs batsman right now, however when it's a test match and he can play each ball on its merits without the scoring imperative he's played quite well.

Though every fast bowler going round will want to come round the wicket and try to hit his pegs/pads right now - needs to work on that.

So I had a bunch of meetings for the last 3 and a half hours.

This is an amazing score to come back too.

And they nearly run each other out as soon as I resume watching

Maybe I should go missing again

You should. This game's over mate, from an NZ winning POV. Best you can hope for is a rain-affected draw from here.
Nah, that would make me a pretty rubbish supporter. I'll stick with the ship and back us to at least get somewhere near parity in the first innings.

One reason why it's challenging to identify appropriate Test player reinforcements is that NZC ,having rapidly spent emergency ICC funding ,abandoned its 'A' team development programme
And we have a 3 month hiatus in the Plunket Shield schedule, again.

We have no other cards up our sleeve, but if we do we won't know about them for another 6 weeks when it no longer matters.

Banish Ford Trophy to the ****ing autumn.

Fair enough. Like a bit of stoicism in supporters.

Yeah, defense has looked a bit porous from what I’ve seen with him with the bat.

tbf you guys are still favourites to win this.

BD will lollapse from here, Kane and Ross will smash some ridiculous 200s against some filth bowling to take the first innings lead with a day left to go, and BD will meekly collapses ala England in India.

With that six this is the highest ever partnership by BD batsmen. Man that's going to make this loss so much harder to swallow

This is already the second highest score by an Asian team touring NZ in the last 10 years, behind India's 520 at Hamilton in 2009

Ideally BD bat on till lunch tomorrow before even considering a declaration. See if the pitch breaks up a bit for Mehedi. I don't think Shakib will be bowling much in the first innings after this. Get Mominul and Mahmadullah tweaking it in the nets.

Bat once, bat big, try and put NZ under some pressure with the ball. If they can get a high first innings lead, set a tough 4th innings target...one can dare to dream.

Highest ever 6th wicket partnership for BD. Mushy redeeming himself here. Shakib WAFG.

Would be surprised if the pitch breaks up - it doesn't usually though I guess the wind will help dry it out. Would just target new ball wickets, find a way through Latham, Williamson and Taylor by good bowling or good luck, and then rely on scoreboard pressure to cut through the mediocre/unproven rest.

Second innings NZ will get that surreal are we really gonna lose ohmygod this can't be happening I'm so embarrassed thing as they gradually lose wicket by wicket and surreality takes hold.

Or NZ could bat well, though the above would be my target if I was Bangladesh.

It'll happen when you lot man the **** up.
Last time there were arguments on here over apparently non-existent terrorist threats which Australia should have ignored, a touring team to Pakistan got shot up. I think the players take them seriously since then, and I can't blame them.

When is Bangladesh due to tour here? We can play them in Alice Springs or Tennant Creek or somewhere in winter where it might draw a crowd to watch them get pumped.
