Watch when Wagner finally gets a chance to bowl, he'll pitch it full and look to use the wicket, once that's no longer working, he'll go to the short pitched attackAnd if Wagner was bowling?
So basically when Southee isn't taking wickets, it's because he sucks. When Southee *is* taking wickets, it's because the batsman sucks. Gotcha."Southee has 1/1" - having got a fluke wicket banging the ball short on a wicket that requires you keep it full.
And now you're saying running in with the wind is a hard task, versus running into the wind...
It's cool that you accept mediocrity in cricket and it doesn't annoy you, I don't.
This is going to be one of those stop start days. For my own sanity it's probably better to just check Cricinfo occassionally rather than try and watch it.
There was a brief squall here in central Wellington, but it is clear again now. The forecast is for it to get wetter as the day goes on though. This is going to be one of those stop start days. For my own sanity it's probably better to just check Cricinfo occassionally rather than try and watch it.
What I laugh at is people who mount such a defense for Southee when for the past three seasons, his bowling average is north of 40 and he's not looked anything like the bowler he threatened to be in 2011-2013. Southee bowling the ball short is like Kane Williamson reverse sweeping, it's not his strength, should only be done when conditions require it and shouldn't be done multiple times an over.So basically when Southee isn't taking wickets, it's because he sucks. As a bowler, I always preferred bowling into the wind than with it, because I could see big gusts coming and try to adjust.
I accept that NZ is a little country fielding the best players it has. Yes, they often frustrate me, but they're *my* team and I'm on their side no matter what.
We shall remember this post next time you post about Wagner, rest assured.having got a fluke wicket banging the ball short
Southee frustrates the hell out of me and I've ranted about him many times. But that doesn't mean I won't credit him or be happy for him when he does bowl well, which he has done today. What I laugh at is people who mount such a defense for Southee when for the past three seasons, his bowling average is north of 40 and he's not looked anything like the bowler he threatened to be in 2011-2013. I've tried this, but I found it made it difficult to keep track of the conversation.I really recommend the use of the "ignore" function. I have only one person on my ignore list, but by crickey it has improved my enjoyment of CW.
Agree. Bowling in this wind does our guys no favours. We'd have been better off batting and hopefully we wouldn't have to have fielded until tomorrow, when the forecast is much better.Sounds like a horrible blustery morning for bowling. That coupled with the fact there's usually less seam movement than the greenness suggests in Wellington makes me wonder if we should have just batted first.
Listening to a broken record isn't a conversation.I've tried this, but I found it made it difficult to keep track of the conversation.
Yeah, but it gets confusing when you can still read the reactions of people who haven't blocked the broken record. Kind of like listening to one end of a phone call.Listening to a broken record isn't a conversation.
