Which makes me wonder if we really shouldn't pick 2 spinners in India. He just doesn't trust them as long spell bowlers. Might as well have a pacer who can bowl tight. We've got two spinners yet I don't expect to see spin from both ends for any significant period. Such is the way of the Smith.
I think he probably would in India.Which makes me wonder if we really shouldn't pick 2 spinners in India. He just doesn't trust them as long spell bowlers. Might as well have a pacer who can bowl tight.
Pattinson did reasonably last time round and if he was fit I'd somewhat prefer to pick three pacers and O'Keefe, possibly with Maxwell (as brainless as he is) to bowl some offies, but I'm not sure how Bird would go. If Lyon actually concentrates outside off rather than down leg two spinners might work but we need a fifth bowling option and I think another pace option is in order if we go with two specialist spinners, but I wouldn't be confident making a choice in that case.Which makes me wonder if we really shouldn't pick 2 spinners in India. Almost as depressing as the soul consuming self-destruction of endless obsession. It's so depressing watching teams self destruct on these flat nude wickets.
So we continue to put up with mediocrity.i'll admit i havent watched a great deal of cricket for a while, i mean i've been way too busy rooting, but i cant see either where lyons results have been below a reasonable expectation, nor where anyone has set the world on fire in order to displace him. there is no need to reinvent the wheel, and no call for 2 spinners anywhere for the foreseeable future
