The crowd is mentally ****ing Handscomb here IMO. It's not just that he's in the late 90s, the crowd's response is distracting him.

They are going to play Wade in now ffs.
It's the ultimate thing... when your own wickets and conditions ultimately allow substandard technique to establish themselves in the test team at home, but mean you won't win any competitive series away from home.

India had it forever, Australia are now going through it bigtime.

They shouldn't be thinking about a declaration this early

If there's one thing I really hate about Australia's tactics over the last 5-10 years it's the early declarations

I'd just like to say 'well done!' to the Aussies who have tonned up here in difficult batting conditions. We know they are difficult because SS gets out cheaply when batting is difficult.

It's a sign of the times though, what you're effectively saying is that they should bat until they don't need to bat twice - however, that means their bowlers get no rest and bowl back to back, and the bowlers have already put a ton of miles into their legs this season. These days, you don't look to bat once, mostly due to your bowlers needing the rest.

stating the obvious, but essentially correct

I still don't like it. In good batting conditions what difference does it make to spend an extra half-session out there to make potentially an extra 80-100 runs. We saw in Brisbane that the "bat twice, declare and set a big 4th innings target can be dangerous.
