Vettori really fell away later in his career, I remember his early record in Aus was pretty good, sub 30 at the very least. I'm surprised Kumble did well in Australia, you'd take that record in the modern era, it just paled in comparison to what Warne was doing.

It's difficult to believe that not everyone is cut out to survive workload of test cricket.

Yeah spinners are going to get their figures absolutely ruined outside Asia if the quicks and batsmen on their team mess up even slightly. Look at the match between SA and SL for example, Keshav Maharaj might end up with better figures than Herath.

Not in Australia though, had that great series in 2000 on home soil when he talk a 12-fer from memory, back when he genuinely got some revs on the ball. There was an old you tube video that's since been deleted, I was surprised how much turn he was getting back then

Especially the way Smith and Clarke bowl the pace attack... to have put so many overs into Starc in the last few tests is ridiculous, it'll be a miracle if the guy doesn't break down in the next few matches.

Before his back injury screwed up his ability to drive through the crease, and he became in love with defensive tactic bowling.
