There's def something in the surface, but when Guptill is on song technically he can play those straight ones swinging in a touch. Especially against a 125 km bowler like Mortaza is these days.
I think he just missed it. Speed was more low 130s. Guptill's white ball form is reasonably good of late. Some good scores in Oz and he looked ok in the first ODI as well. But yeah, I'm peeved off he got out as I wanted to see some head down tonking of bowlers over long on.

Leg slip is a great position for KW, liking these tactics by Bangers. KW is often strangled down the leg-side... gets so far inside those deliveries which can be a strength and a weakness.

Another life for so called world class player

His last ton in India had 2 chances as well, the 70 in the Tests was far from chanceless too IIRC.

He truly is in horrible touch, no longer good enough to be considered world class IMHO.

Looks quite hard to score at the moment - anything on a good length appears to just pop a little, it's only really the rank bad balls that we've scored off.

There goes steady the ship Kane.

2 chances for that techniquely perfect 14.

That was coming. Poor batting from these two. There's only so long that you can keep hitting poor balls to fielders before the pressure will induce a mistake.

If Latham keeps this up, I'd like for Kane to switch with Latham.

Latham is more dynamic and can switch gears at the death.

KW too one dimensional but could compliment Guptill well at the top of the order.

Yes, Williamson is really struggling. I think he should be concentrating on his batting and give the captaincy up. Not sure who would captain the side though.

Not like his captaincy will be missed, he hasn't brought anything to the table and is even struggling to score runs. Anyone will do...

Another one down, wow... we could lose to Bangladesh at home.

Talk about rock bottom..

Unfortunately there's no other realistic options for skipper, but there's no doubt KW's batting has suffered quite a lot since taking over the reins. He bats with so much hesitancy these days & seems to often psyche himself out. So often of late, you can feel his wicket coming.

This was my fear when Bmac retired, I always thought KW needed another year or so just concentrating on being our best batsman.
