Wow hugely surprised that you are stupidly optimistic despite a terrible result........
The performance was outstanding. Very unlucky to not take at least one point and from here onwards, most of our rivals have to come to us, except for Barrow. We've made huge strides since Micky came in and would have taken this league position at that point.

Can't watch live today, so will record it and watch tonight without knowing the score. I hope Wenger realises a draw isn't a good result.

You should know why, if you spend more than a season in that league your standards slip and you look for positives in everything.

Thank god the clown Mellon left us, 1 clean sheet in his last 28 games in charge (4 defeats in a row with a caretaker too) and since Hurst came in we have 7 clean sheets in 10 games with the same players he couldn't organise or motivate.

Yeah the clown who took you up from league 2, gave you memorable cup runs and kept you in league 1 with a pitiful budget (reportedly lower than our budget two leagues lower)

Sometimes things just go as far as they can. Obviously I've always been partial to Micky, even before he took our hot seat, but seems a bit unsavoury to hold such resentment for someone who legitimately did a lot of good for your club.

Like when some of our less savoury fans moan about Aldridge because his last season ended in relegation

He can't hack it in League 1, failed there with Fleetwood and Shrewsbury. His budget last season was in the top 10 of the division and we scraped survival and that was because of him anyway. He signed all the players on big contracts in League 2 with a huge pay rise bonus if they got promoted which we did. Then he decided he didn't want half of them and nobody would take them off us so we wasted money paying them off. He has this season signed a load of duffers on 2 year deals and we are stuck with them too so Hurst has a job on his hands keeping us up with the squad that Mellon built. His budget was cut this season down to his own stupidity (and that of the chairman) so he can't complain about it, anyway it is still bigger than clubs like Walsall and Port Vale who get far better results than Mellon did.

Then again you obviously know far more about my club than I do, stick to crowing about beating part timers in the pub league.

Lol flibberty. Bit OTT. I've heard otherwise RE the budget, hence why at the start of the season you couldn't afford to keep Mangan but will take your words at face value.

We'll see if he can hack it at league one level in a couple of years when he gets to manage a proper club from England's most successful football county () there instead of non entities like Shrewsbury - and he certainly didn't fail with Fleetwood in League One as he was sacked with them in the play off places in League Two.

He couldn't keep Mangan as all the players wages went up so much, no reason other than that. Enjoy your day at Macclesfield over christmas, we play a big team, BOLTON

Hey I will be rooting for you, and am looking forwards to my visit to the concrete jungle in an industrial wasteland that is the new meadow next season

Well we aren't down yet thanks to Hurst being a good organiser of a defence. You have to win promotion yet too which isn't easy.

January is huge for us, hopefully Mellon will come and take some of his duds off us seeing as you have such a mahoosive budget.

Didn't say we had a massive budget. It's probably not even the biggest in the division, despite our attendances being on par with certain League One clubs

Sorry can someone explain to me what Jermaine Jenas was saying about that hand in the Leicester penalty not being an unnatural position, I mean he's putup his hand to block it, WTF.

just got in so watching MOTD on catch-up.
If the rumours are true, Jermaine probably has a wider definition of what constitutes a "natural position" than most of us...

There's honestly just nothing inspiring about the whole club now bar the individuals who get linked away every week. The late 2000s Arsenal was so much better with worse talent/less complete a squad. They played with ambition too.

Would bit your hand off for that tbh.

Would be amazed if anyone could watch that match and say Wenger deserves a new contract.
Being honest NO. The thing i'd be concerned about is the Ozil and Sanchez contract situation. I think both will leave as Arsenal aren't going to blow the pay structure out of the water to keep them so they will be off next summer and how do you replace them?
