England record for most runs in a year

Code:
MP Vaughan	1481	2002
JE Root 1471	2016
JM Bairstow	1447	2016
Chance for JB to take it tonight only for Root to take it in the second innings.

Good from England. 300/4 at stumps with their batting depth would be a superb platform.

Good thing we picked Mishra and he got smashed. Best get him out of the system while it doesn't matter.

Perhaps the high scoring nature of Indian domestic cricket is partially explained by Parthiv Patel having kept wicket in it

That was out, and it looked out for certain! Hit in line and would've definitely hit the stumps, yet the on-field umpire gave it immediately not-out..
goodness me..
Ali has been seriously lucky today. (also given the play & misses by him)

Whatever it takes!!!
Those are the annoying ones though. Close enough to be out but umpire and DRS disagree. This is why I have time for those who think when it is just one umpire's call from being overturned, you should not lose a review.

the amount of absolutely brain dead dismissals from english batsmen on this tour has been astonishing.

i blame video games for this complete inability to concentrate. and the advent of t20 and fizzy drinks.

Nice one Mo, doubt he will do anything up the order against good pace attacks on decks that help them but this has been a good tour for him with the bat.

why do you say that? he did very well in ODIs against pace attacks and hasn't shown much doubt against swing or seam, not to mention he has batted in tests against the new balls at 7 and 8.

In all honesty, if Mo is in at 4 and the top 3 have done their jobs properly, he won't be coming up against many new balls and out and out pace.
