***Official*** England in India 2016/17

Whatever it takes!!!
Think Broad, Woakes, Stokes, Lawson, Ali and Rashid should be the bowling attack. If they are serious about Stokes being a main bowler for them, I would even suggest dropping Woakes for Duckett and sticking him to bat 5 and giving the keeping gloves to Buttler.

Vaughan's pretty much an unabashed England cheer-leader. Takes away whatever credibility he has as a pundit.
He speaks a load of twaddle at times but I wouldn't say that. He was actually quite critical of England and praised the Indians to a hilt (in his journalism and punditry).

Virat Kohli 'would love' a county stint before 2018 England tour | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

From the article, Kohli on the fab four and the competition between him and Joe Root, Kane Williamson and Steve Smith...

Kaptain Kohli said:
To me all these are world-class players, and I have always rated each one of them higher than me, in Test cricket especially, because of the way they have performed in the last two or three years.

And to send the CW into a collective orgasm...

Kaptain Kohli said:
We still understand we have to play a lot of cricket everywhere in the world," he said. "It's not only about this one period we are going through. It looks really good because we have come out of transition and immediately started winning games. But I wouldn't take it as overconfidence. It's an on-going process, which needs to be sustained for the next five to seven or eight years for us to become a top-quality side and leave a mark on world cricket; maybe be known as one of the best teams to have assembled on the field.

WAG.. Quite simply, WAFG!!!

so hyped for Kohli's reign of Terror over world cricket.

Ashwin and Jadeja are gonna take so many wickets and everyone's gonna hate them. Can't wait.

I see that Jimmeh has begged of "injured" for the final test. And this after he was also "injured" for the test at Rajkot. Wouldn't be the case if it was a May test at Durham against Sri Lanka, now would it? And to think some people were unironically calling him "the best pace bowler in the Subcontinent" in this decade.

If Kohli really thinks like his and isn't just saying it then he's rapidly developing into an extremely canny and even more dangerous opponent than he is now
Yeah ominous signs for others. Think he has all the right people beside him now too particularly Kumble.

Can I just say to all those accusing Anderson of avoiding the next test, he may have been legitimately dropped, and 'x has a bit of a niggle' etc is the standard line when someone gets dropped these days.

Yeah, the comments on his performance are entirely justified, but, whilst I'm not going to pretend that he's some kind of saint, there's been quite a bit of people jumping on any excuse to make personal attacks on him.

Well, he is just a **** guy isn't he? In my defence, I made it clear what I posted was in jest about him Philandering. :p FWIW, I dont think Philander himself was Philandering it that test down under. :)

Sorry, wasn't thinking so much of your philandering post, was thinking more of the personal comments re him missing the test which didn't come across as in jest and what people said in response to his comments in the interview the other day, which were taken out of context quite badly (I realise you personally very creditably pointed this out at the time). :)

Fwiw, I'd ideally like Jimmy to conduct himself a bit better

I just always assumed Anderson would stop being a **** as he got older. You can be an arsehole third seamer, but within a couple of years of taking the lead of the attack you should really grow up.

Will try and go to the stadium tomorrow. If the tickets are affordable, I will atten the game for the first three days.
