Is Warner still batting at Manuka Oval while the rest of the team is at the MCG? With one opener on 135 striking at 121 in the 45th over you'd expect a side to be on 280+, not 5/226
Probably suggests that Australia's score will be better than it looks. Batting here isn't as easy, Warner's just been good enough that it doesn't matter where he's batting.

Yeah, Warner has been outstanding.

Why on earth would it be a wide?
it was outside the lines on Warner's offside and he backed away, if anything it's wider than a normal wide because he backed away. if he's walking across his stumps and it's outside the lines then i get it because it's at a relatively similar line/distance from the batsman.

Exceptional innings in the scorecard context. Reminds me of some of Sehwag's knocks against NZ in 2002 and in a tri-series in SL around 2010.

No it wasn't.

The batsman shouldn't get any concession because they backed away either.
swear it was, last ball of Ferguson's last over? stand corrected if it was in the lines. my point was if it was outside the lines then the bowler shouldn't get any concession because the batsman backed away either.

Basically this:

No it wasn't.

The batsman shouldn't get any concession because they backed away either.
You can't penalise the bowler for bowling a good ball because the batsman moved away.

edit: Yeah it was well within the lines, and if it was outside the lines it should have been a wide regardless of whether he moved or not. Either way his movement isn't a factor at all in that case.

Faulkner has just got his strike rate up over 60, meaning Warner won't end his innings over doubling the strike rate of every other Australian.

I still don't buy the whole "taking the ball in front of the stumps" thing

So unselfish from the Finisher

just watch a replay of every time the keeper takes it behind the stumps, has their gloves pushed backwards and then has to push forwards again to get to the bails?

Dammit. Was hoping for a not out.

Still, 156 (128) when the rest of the team did 108 (172) is pretty damn good. 59.1%
