***Official*** England in India 2016/17

Massive effort from Stokes and our lower order. Now that the ginger **** is smiling a bit and not being the angry psycho all the time, he might even eventually become a likable player for all fans.

Well 400 was about par, shame we batted like pillocks on day 1.
I think both sides batted badly, India just got rescued by their tail.

I think this was a 450+ first innings wicket, if England can resist and put on at least a 250 run lead (that's saying lots) then they've got a shot here, but I expect they'll be shot out for around 250 and leave India a 120 total.

Yeah I'd back India to chase about 150 in the final innings, can't let England get away though. Gotta stay patient and do what we did in the first innings, just dry up the runs.

Interesting lead. If England can wipe the deficit just 2 down, they have the batting depth to get a lead of 150+.

Should be a cracking session, England can't win the game this session, but can go a long way towards losing it.

Oooooo. Rooty opening... this must be forced... surely

What happened to Hameed?

EDIT: CricInfo suggests a finger injury. That sucks. Can England fly down more than one replacement?

Whatever it takes!!!
Damnit Virat.. There is a time and a place to keep throwing the new ball to your two seamers but Day 3 in India is definitely not that, esp.when you got a spinner who loves bowling with the new ball in the side.

England's best chance here is that these two can toll the opening bowlers and hit the spinners around while the ball is still too new to grip properly.

Ah, it's the (glimmer of) hope that kills you. Would much rather Kohli and Pujara had piled on the runs.

With Hameed injured, and at least 3 of the touring party virtually unselectable, 2 more Tests to go, this tour is in danger of reaching the 'nightmare tour' category.
