Ah **** missed it lol.
Yeah, that's the sort of analysis I was pondering a week or so ago. In terms of India win vs England win vs draw, I had it 80, 10, 10 if India win the toss and 40, 40, 20 if England did. Obviously not very scientific, and the draw odds would depend heavily on the state of the pitch.Well yeah. I'm trying to quantify what winning the toss in India means. Intuitively I'd say if India win the toss against England on a typical pitch that's likely to deteriorate throughout, it makes it almost a 90-10 probability in India's favour for mine, whereas if England win the toss, it suddenly feels like a 55-45 game in India's favour.

And before I get shot down by others yes, of course that entirely reflects the abilities of the two sides out here. It certainly isn't a complaint of any sort.
It's weird that he's ended up how he has as a batsman. I remember early-career Jadeja was all manoeuvring and no release shots, to the point where a couple here suggested that if he was going to play as an allrounder in ODIs he'd have to bat five rather than seven. The requirements of his role in limited overs cricket combined with his early technical shortcomings in Tests have really shaped his batting development in a different direction to what I expected.Jadeja's actually knuckled down and played a patient innings. Will wonders never cease?
