***Official*** England in India 2016/17

For all the stick he has been given on here Parthiv has actually batted well here. Yes his glovework was poor yesterday but not much worse than Louis Saha was previously. Played some nice shots today and looked far more at ease than Vijay who has a better pedigree.
Vijay has started treating every pitch like a minefield. Eventually gets out on good tracks not having done much but looks really classy on tracks that are actually tough to play on.

Logged on to see we were 1 down and expected that it would Vijay and Pujara at the crease

Turns out Parthiv had just driven Anderson for two fours in an over

Good times

Large part probably due to the industrialization of other countries.

Anyway, we gave you cricket, railways, democracy and table manners.

Back to the cricket... Chet looking comfortable so far. Worrying for Eng.
We just had a lot of people and economies everywhere were labour intensive. Per capita gdp was not very high in India.

So the only session we can claim to have done well in was the middle one yesterday, need to do well in the middle one today or we are out of this match and series completely. Minimum we can take is getting 2 wickets but them being both Pujara and Kohli but that would be unlikely as they will probably put 150+ on on here.

One more year like this and I think we can start talking about Shami being the first since Zaheer to break the wheel.

He's 26, has improved by leaps and bounds from his first year or two, had a great WC (17 wickets @ 17) like Zaheer did in '03 and '11.

He averages 26.8 since the beginning of 2015 and has bowled some great spells in conditions that don't suit him.

Anyway, Parthiv has already contributed more than Saha would have in both innings put together, so there's that.

Will Saha return as he is a better keeper or will they stick with the backstop who can bat a bit?

Surely there is a good keeper who can bat well enough to play ahead of them both somewhere?

Whatever it takes!!!
Who should I believe LOL... the Indian pundits seem convinced that England are well below par on a good batting track and the Sky ones seem to think the pitch is cracking up already.
If that is what they are thinking, it is the Sky pudnits who have/are on cracks.. :p

Yeah that's the way I'm looking at it too, done more than what Saha would have down the order. The question mark is about Karun Nair and how much he contributes, but honestly India can't give up the advantage they've worked themselves into, need a huge lead as we are batting last and England do bat deep. Can't just be happy with a 70-80 run lead.

His name is Pant. But he is an explosive opener in FC and would have to either play out of position or we play Saha for another year or two.

Well, Rahul hasn't quite cemented his spot TBF. If he comes in and grabs his first opportunity, there could be a chance there.

The demands of Test match keeping and opening for a newbie will probably be way too high though.
