You make it sound coordinated, Zinzan. Blocky has a habit of pissing off multiple people at once (going so far to call them stupid, and how wrong they are, in an antagonizing way). When these people respond, it's hardly ganging up on him. It's a forum, not a god damn boxing ring. If his posting style was any different, you'd probably see more people publicly agreeing with him (hell, we all have really re: Wagner) and going up against this 'gang' you speak of, but the 'gang' only exists because of his garbage posting style and peoples' reluctance to side with him.Every poster here has their flaws, (except for me of course), but I must say I've got very little time for the ganging and bullying when 4-5 jump in together on one guy.
Some here definitely give the impression they like being part of a gang more than others, there's no doubt about that.
Depends how you define best. He's been our lowest averaging, most uninjured, most reliable, able to take wickets in all conditions, bowler over the past two years. Probably an argument to say he's won the most Test matches for his side with the ball too. And done it all with an older ball. Dunno if that's best.I'm not trolling, I genuinely do not rate Wagner. As I always say, "maybe not what you want to hear, but need hear"
I'm also going to call anyone out who has him down as our best bowler, we saw that wasn't even near the case in India, he's far too much of a one trick pony.
I don't think it's coordinated, just that when I see multiple people effectively arguing the same point against one person, I don't feel the need to jump in & effectively say the same thing. You make it sound coordinated, Zinzan. If you want one v one discussions or 'fights', take it to VMs.
Yeah that's a fair point. Sometimes people do argue the same point, but build on it with new stuff, which is valid imo. But saying exactly the same thing is superfluous.I don't think it's coordinated, just that when I see multiple people effectively arguing the same point against one person, I don't feel the need to jump in & effectively say the same thing.
If they're independent arguments, then that's different.
Yeah agree with this. Posters do chip in with new ideas to add to the argument which is fair enough. Though people saying precisely the same stuff is unnessecary.Yeah that's a fair point. Haha yeah, good one from Athlai
Oh come on, it was my funniest post in ages. I had to google a synonym.Unintentional imo
Dan pretending he isn't part of the Kiwi blocIf this **** continues in the morning, I'm throwing out 8-pointers all over the place. If the entire kiwibloc has to have the Test off, so be it.
Discuss the cricket, not posting styles.
In the recent piece on crapinfo by Andy Zaltzman, he posted a link to a score card to show when 3 batsmen had debuted in the same test for a top test playing nation. It was Pak against NZ in 2001 and guess where the 3 debutants batted.. openers and #3. Yousuf and YOunis hiding at 4 and 5. And this is not the first time either. Imran always used to harp on the fact that Inzy was so reluctant to bat at 3. Even now I see all new players batting everywhere but Younis and Misbah bat 4 and 5. And funnily enough, Misbah also made his debut in that 2001 test and guess what, he was batting #3. This was an issue with India too but I hope under Kaptain Kohli, it will change. You gotta get your senior batsmen batting 3 and 4 and/or opening. Nice to see Arthur taking that route at least with Azhar.Rizwan likely to play at 6. This might not necessarily be the best decision in the context of this match as Rizwan's credentials as a test batsman is doubtful but I can't help but admire Arthur's uncompromising stance on Azhar-Sami combo. There is just so much pressure on him from Pakistan to push Azhar back to number 3 and I'm loving the fact that he keeps saying **** you to them. As much as I like Waqar as a coach, this is something he would not have been able to do.
Million miles from selection for test cricket and that is from someone who likes him, its a fair enough call. He has done ok when he has played what at times have been truncated first class seasons, but their is guys who have outshone him over the years who are waiting for a chance. Back of the line at the moment. He needs to be play full first class seasons (currently in the BPL) and tear it up.Why isn't Umar Akmal in the test squad? Positive player and I like his cricket.
