Duckett should attack tomorrow. Sitting duck defending so try to get a run a ball score as Kohli very negative and will take fielders away from bat quickly
Yeah feels like it is his only option, would be pretty brave of him to do so.

Really hope Broad does not miss the next Test, really want him Anderson and Woakes in the side.

This is huge praise from coming from you.

We have been terrific for the last two days really. The openers probably had to get us to the close tonight but lets make it close.
Well, one tries to give credit when due.

And yes, they've competed very well on Days 3 & 4, no question.

As an aside, the groundsman may be tempted to raise a finger to the experts claiming this pitch would disintegrate by the end of Day 2.

Been terrific for all the match bar one session. You can't have a session like that in Asia, puts you so far behind in the game that you are fighting for survival for the rest of the match.

Given what Gavaskar and co have said about what to expect it is safe to say the pitches for the opening 2 tests have been very good. We should lose tomorrow but it isn't down to the pitch or toss that we lose if we do.

The pitches were similar in the 2008 series, weren't they? It was possible to score close to 300 on day five in Chennai. We had Sachin batting of course but Yuvraj sored runs against spinners in that chase, so it couldn't have been very threatening.

I think the toss plays a part, but that's natural enough. I have no complaints about that, and certainly none about the pitch.

The groundsman told comms he thought after lunch day 2 it would start spinning so doubt he has much to say

Ugh. What a shame. We'll lose, just hope they don't throw it away in a session tomorrow.

Once this is done and dusted I hope they're all really ****ing angry with themselves. Brain farts with the bat and a couple of dropped catches has cost them a Test Match in Asia against the world's no.1 ranked side.

Feels like Ansari is done if he didn't even get an over in the 3rd innings.

England can hold on for a draw on this pitch if they go all blockathon without much trouble imo. Pitch isn't doing a lot and SA almost successfully pulled off a blockathon on a pitch that was doing much more than this one.

However it'll be different if they play their natural game. Should tell Duckett to just go for it and then if it comes off they are lot more closer to the target than they would have been if Duckett tried to defend and get bowled out for something like 9 (37).

The SRs from both openers have been pretty bad. For as much test cricket as I've seen, being purely negative loses you matches more often than drawing or winning them.

The English batsmen should block touch deliveries and put away the bad ones and there were plenty of bad balls but they just let the Indian bowlers ball at them. This mindset won't work.

3 changes for next test. Buttler, Woakes and Batty in for Duckett, Broad and Ansari
Kind of ridiculous that Buttler is the only real option, given the way Bairstow has kept he should not really be in contention at all. I would actually stick with Duckett for now.

It will be a great result if England can draw this, but it looks clear as daylight that they will struggle to win 1 test: their spinners are just not as good as India's. Indian batsman face far better spin than England's. Also, Bangladesh are far more likely to win in India than England. They have better spinners than England, as well as the "fizz" factor.
