To be honest I think I would've picked this exact lineup. Two spinners was always going to be rather pointless on this pitch, particularly given how reluctant Misbah has been to actually bowl Nawaz, so that meant a four man attack. Amir and Sohail are the best new ball attack in these conditions, and then for the third seamer I would've gone Rahat just because he's fitter and that was going to be important in a four man attack containing Sohail who is usually spent after his new ball burst.

I definitely would've swapped Babar and Shafiq in the order and I think the bowling changes have been a bit.. strange, but the eleven is what I would have gone with.

Gotta admit it was a huge shock waking up to see CdG in the XI *and* ripping into the Pakistanis. Honestly didn't think much of him when I watched those handful of international appearances he made in 2012, but well done to the guy for showing up the new ball pair. More competition for Neesham and Anderson also a good thing.

Good start from Raval, bit early to be saying this seeing how McIntosh/Watling/Rutherford started in test cricket but looks like he'll bring more to the table than Guppy. Need a lead of 140 IMO assuming the pitch flattens out as expected. Can't see Pakistan being as complicit in their dismissals second time around.

And yeah well done to KW on winning the toss.
