Averages an amazing 18 with the bat in Shield Cricket. Mennie does look reasonable with the bat but surely at Bird's home ground, his experience and past Tests performances meant he was a logical choice.

I am starting to love the idea of going O'Keefe and Bird instead of the ordinary third seamer and Lyon.
