I don't get why they aren't stone-walling. They're still playing wide cover drives and ****, Nevill taking singles off the first ball of the over when runs are irrelevant.

Almost as if they don't see a difference between losing and drawing

His bowling reminds me of Mike Gatting's. Actually plenty of occasional English bowlers in the 80s that just bowled accurately abd used the rubbish pitches of the time to take a fair few wickets, in county cricket and List A anyway.

Yeah they've got a pretty decent 4th innings total already, even factoring in the loss of Steyn.

They'd still have been better off stonewalling imo.

they're only about 40 short of their highest fourth innings total

I agree but that's even less likely than them batting sanely in the first innings.
