That said, popular bloke, will be giving lots of autographs so won't lose track of where his pen is.

Concerned with Cook's form. But Australia is just trolling them by fielding sides like these in warm up games
It’s all been a bit too easy for them and the softening up started with the prank attack Australia sent to the Republic. They can't get over complacent, and if they lose the toss at Perth, more than likely Warner and co. will finish the first day with 350+ on the board and they are up against it straight away.
Think that their is enough experience in the SA line-up to understand the increased intensity and quality in the Tests.
What I`ve liked is the aggressiveness the SA batsmen have shown. While it may be against weak Aus warmup teams, they are making sure they take full toll of that in the practises.

SA top order isn't as good as people think it is so De kock would have to come early which would put extra pressure on him

How good will it be to see two sides playing real cricket, with quicks opening the bowling at both ends for decent spells and the batsmen having to cope with physical threats as well as technical ones.

Finally, wecan leave behind that 19th century-style rubbish we've all had to put up with during the course of the Chennai season.

It wasn't a problem at all for Tony Greig.
SA cricket was banned from international cricket when Greig played. SA was banned in 1970 and Greig played his first test in 1972. There was no choice for Greig to make. He was also liked in SA unlike Kp.

FMD there's reward for mediocrity these days in Australian cricket.

Selecting South Australians the obvious example.

Don't think that's right actually. Greig left SA to play in the UK in about '67, before we were banned. I think he'd already made the decision to throw his lot in with England before we were banned. Perhaps he saw the writing on the wall, but he certainly didn't leave SA after we were kicked out of international cricket.

A comment on cricinfo:

We have Mennie problems now that Marsh has decided to prefer his own namesakes ahead of a Bird without a bat and a Burns that weighs a ton. Now we have to come to the Starc realisation that our Lyons are weak, and, in spite of the Warnerings we had in the ODI series, they Siddle can't put a good team together! Having Mitchells in the team is now out of Voges, and we will Nevill have a good team while he is in charge of picking the team. Even Hazlewood can't Smith it all together and the result is that we will be slaughtered and put in a boggy Marsh to rot, which is where the selectors should be.

Cricinfo comments are always terrible and never funny. They're the subcontinental cricket supporter of internet comments.
