***Official*** New Zealand in India 2016

Overthrows are the way they are to stop fielders from getting into weird situations where sending the ball over the boundary is a better outcome than just getting it back to the bowler.
What situation would mean a fielder prefers conceding 6 to conceding 4?

Not a terrible game for India- it was just one of those days. Boult had a great game, and the Indian top five, a very poor one. The big innings by Kane and the big partnership he had with Tom made a difference- compared to not a single defining innings from India's top five.

The Indian spinners' performance was a mystery. They were smashed by the two batsmen dominating the innings, but pulled back and had a much better game from then on.

The Indian team should stick to the same XI they have here for the rest of the series. They can't go very wrong with this one- NZ just played very well today.

Good win for NZ that. Williamson with a class apart ton, the drops of him cost India the game pretty obviously.

Its absurd that a tried and tested failure Rahane is still playing ODI cricket after years of total failure in 2016. Yet another shambles from him today.

Dhoni I am unsure about still, an ATG in this format, but he can't go hard anymore, and this side at times seems to have to many one paced batsman, I see him stinking it out in the world cup if he lasts that long.

People keep bagging Pandya but he took a pile of wickets in the first ODI and he's coming up clutch with the bat now. Seems like a cricketer to me

Oh look he's out b howe
He has worked hard on his bowling between IPL and the 1st ODI. He's a different bowler now compared to before - more speed, better accuracy, some swing as well

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Where's the guy who thought I was being silly when saying we were going to struggle in the ODI's?..

So much for being favorites aye

This team is lacking confidence and a strong leader, the boys look resigned to defeat whenever they play.

India should coast it in the chase, only question now is whether Kohli will score another century chasing.

Uh. Can someone explain Guptill getting two wickets?
He bowled one of the worst overs in ODI history. The Indian batsmen were so shocked by it they skyed a couple trying to hit him into the stands.

India always had a chance.

2 wickets remaining with 60 odd runs to get at a run a ball. You're never really out of the game.

Don't really think it would have been mind boggling for NZ to lose from there.
Yeah, that was some pretty weird posting. There were two teams playing as far as I could see and plenty of dew around & all we heard is it would be funny if NZ lose.

I would have thought it's even funnier that India couldn't chase down 240 in their own backyard after winning an important toss & with all the dew around, saying nothing about the fact we had Devcich and Guptill bowl 10 overs.

Btw. wtf is with cricinfo's main headline "Williamson, Southee star in final-over win" Um...Boult was our undoubted star with the ball, every other bowler went for more than the RRR.

Surprised KW doesn't have the confidence to bowl himself the odd over these days. He couldn't have any less control than Devcich & Guptill couldn't he?

Oh hey we won, that's a pleasant surprise. Guptill's over sounds amazing. Boult not bad either.
Guptill's over was actually very ordinary. 4 wides, 1 wicket off a high full-toss & 1 wicket where Mishra tried a slog-sweep to probably his only decent delivery of the over.

Boult on the other hand, was as good as I've seen him bowl in ODIs, especially given the conditions and dew. That was a world class spell.
