**Official** England in Bangladesh 2016

This could be the most spin-friendly wicket England have played on since Mumbai 2012 so there's some heart to be taken out of that.

So England going in with an extra bowling option? Not sure you need Batty when you've already got Moeen and Rashid + 3 quicks. Unless Moeen's bowling has really dropped off since I see he's batting up the order.

Just feel that England could have gone in with a whole extra batsman without losing much with the ball.

Tend to agree with this. Would have liked to see Hameed open, Duckett in middle order and just ask Root to bowl a few more overs.

Moeen's averaging 61 with the bat and 66 with the ball in eleven Tests this year. I think the prevailing opinion coming out of the English summer was that he deserved another go batting in a proper middle order spot but probably didn't deserve to be persevered with as a frontline bowler anymore, and that's fair enough I think. I expected his bowling to develop more with more opportunity as a frontliner but if anything it's gone backwards since his Test debut.

Welp

Time for Rashid to be our new number four batsman then

It's like I've had this stupid list of wicket keeper runs in a year open all morning for nothing

Brutal way to get out. Good knock from Bairstow though, proving his value yet again. Need to make sure no more wickets before close. Need 50 more at least you'd think.

Could be a positive to play on something like this ahead of India though. Just getting flat pitches here wouldn't have helped us prepare, but this looks a very Indian pitch of the last 12 or so months.

What Cork said there doesn’t make any sense. If England score 250 they are in the game apparently but if they get bowled out now or at 249, they are not.

Saying a side needs 250+ isn't particularly out there? I mean if you're asked to draw the line somewhere

Still holding out hope we can get 270 odd. Think that would be a decent total all things considered, although Bangladesh will find the middle overs against our spinners much easier. Hope we get spin on earlier to take advantage of the new ball.

It was more the way he said it and he was saying it when England are two shots away from 250. Fine to say when your 3 down for nothing but they have pretty much got that objective done and if they don't get 250, they will still be in the game.

The O/U is currently 301.5 on England first innings runs. Think they would take that tbh, don't have much faith in Broad at all, don't know what to think on Batty.
