Tend to agree with this. Would have liked to see Hameed open, Duckett in middle order and just ask Root to bowl a few more overs. So England going in with an extra bowling option? Not sure you need Batty when you've already got Moeen and Rashid + 3 quicks. Unless Moeen's bowling has really dropped off since I see he's batting up the order.
Just feel that England could have gone in with a whole extra batsman without losing much with the ball.
Moeen's averaging 61 with the bat and 66 with the ball in eleven Tests this year. I think the prevailing opinion coming out of the English summer was that he deserved another go batting in a proper middle order spot but probably didn't deserve to be persevered with as a frontline bowler anymore, and that's fair enough I think. I expected his bowling to develop more with more opportunity as a frontliner but if anything it's gone backwards since his Test debut. So England going in with an extra bowling option? You'd have expected so from 100/5 - not being would be a significant recoveryHarder ball works again. We could be bowled out tonight.
Saying a side needs 250+ isn't particularly out there? I mean if you're asked to draw the line somewhereWhat Cork said there doesn’t make any sense. If England score 250 they are in the game apparently but if they get bowled out now or at 249, they are not.
It was more the way he said it and he was saying it when England are two shots away from 250. Fine to say when your 3 down for nothing but they have pretty much got that objective done and if they don't get 250, they will still be in the game.Saying a side needs 250+ isn't particularly out there?
