As bad as NZ's performance in the tests was, I personally never felt embarrassed by it. Getting destroyed by Ashwin isn't embarrassing because he's an awesome bowler, one of the best in the world.
Getting destroyed by Pandya and Jadhav on the other hand...

It's nice to see that Tim's been working on his batting in the layoff. Pity it looks like he's still bowling ineffectual, inaccurate rubbish.
It's really maddening. It's as though back in early 2012, aliens abducted Southee, replaced him with an android copy designed to be a superior bowler in every way and give it a 3 year trial period to test it's effectiveness. Then, satisfied with the results, they swapped them back in the middle of the world cup and took the android Tim off to the Alpha Centauri Premier League, where he's comparatively just as **** as the real Tim is here on earth. C'mon, our Gloopgloop overlords...bring Android Tim back. We need him more than you do!

I'm not going to deny that Shane Bond helped, but given that Southee's improvement occurred suddenly and several months before Bond became the bowling coach I think it's reasonable to conclude that aliens are primarily responsible.

I agree with this 100% and was shocked last night by the total lack of effort (bar Latham) from the team.
I saw a stat come up on the television coverage saying NZ only have a win percentage of 18% in India so I suppose we shouldn't be overly surprised, but was disappointing all the same.
I think the team as a whole are missing McCullum's leadership and it will be interesting to see over the summer how Williamson goes. I do wonder whether Williamson's captaincy is going to go down a similiar route to Ross Taylor's.
