Lol. He wasnt out but he's lucky because the umpire may have ****ed up and given that out on another day.
Rahane had no control of either shot. In real time it was difficult to see if the ball had taken glove / armguard or both. Especially the "catch" by Watling, ball looped slowly which is normally what happens from glove. So yes, I mean he had some luck that the ump didn't give him out.

When you keep giving an ump a chance to make a decision, sometimes they make a decision.

So in other words he was lucky that he wasn't unlucky.

Next time I'm out to a good catch I'll claim I was unlucky that I wasn't lucky. Makes as much sense really.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Rahane also top edged one that would've been taken had Henry not ****ed up his judgement of where the ball was going.

Kohli looked solid throughout. India could've easily been 5 or 6 down by end of days play. NZ gave it away in the third session, much like most of the series where one session fails them. All bowlers bowled superbly at times if not for one spell each where the batsmen took them on. Even Neesham looked quite good at times.

Boult was really giving it his all too. Henry as well but Boult looked incredibly determined. I wouldn't call this downhill skiing from Kohli in a dead rubber. Black Caps are desperate not to lose the series 3-0.

Boom. Hope Chappell was watching that.
Chappell liked Santner didn't he? Don't think he's one of dem haterz iirc.
"Steady bowler, I like him as a cricketer. In Australia he looked like he was just trying to tie batsmen down, but I think he's got more than that" was Chappell's updated opinion this year on Santner.

Clearly Chappell wasn't a hater to the extent of saying Santner should give up bowling completely, which was (ironically) Howsie's view.

Tbf Bedi used to clap people who hit sixes off him, so he might think Santner has a future doing that.

Nah, my comment had nothing to do with his opinion on Santner, it was Pujara.

He's been horrible, is he usually this bad? Because if he isn't I think he's about to be bombed by a few more teams after this.
Usually not. His problem against short pitched bowling has more been the fact that he goes for the pull virtually every time. But he's not had this much trouble ducking and swaying out of the way before.

Man, was working till 6 am and I set an alarm to watch the great man ton up and I switch on the to TV to see him getting hit and then him attacking with a blindfold for the over. So nervous.

Just on another note, Manjrekar is such a dire commentator, isn't he? He offers little in the way of analysis and is either relentlessly and nauseatingly jerking off batsman he likes (like Kohli) and finding inventive ways to patronisingly criticise batsmen he's not big on (like Pujara).

Dunno why he hasn't done that more. He always plays the tap down to third man more comfortably, but the **** just can't resist going for the pull even with 6 on the on side

He's been an embarassment this series. He was probably just as bad in the SL tour last year too. Pujara made an amazing hundred to win us the game on a bowler's track, but Manjrekar wouldn't stop talking about how Ishant should've won the MotM over him.

WAG. Amazing how he didn't lose his confidence despite all the chin music he faced on an inconsistent pitch. Probably gave him a lot of satisfaction, this hundred, faced qualify bowling throughout, out there trying to get him with a strategy.
