Kiwi batting by year

2011 - average 24.23 - 2 tons
2012 - average 25.75 - 6 tons
2013 - average 30.41 - 11 tons
2014 - average 36.13 - 14 tons
2015 - average 36.91 - 10 tons
2016 - average 32.22 - 7 tons

Definitely feels like a step backwards after a couple of very good years. But not quite the doldrums of doom and gloom.

It's not as much a regression as the new ball attack has gone through, I think.
Yup, seeing the bowling averages lined up next to that would tell a more holistic tale.

NZ built a good run based on world class opening bowlers and a batting line up that kept producing unfair innings. BJ Watling was in two ATG rearguards, one which resulted in a test win, is ridiculous.

oh and our spuddy players kept pulling good stuff out of their arses too, like craig.

TBF, their 2016 would look a fair bit worse if you take out the runs they scored against Zimbabwe.

reminds me of the trade thread. India and NZ could make a a mutually beneficial trade deal, no doubt.
Who'd we trade for? Williamson or Boult? Boult would make us a real force overseas, but KW in for Rohit would take our batting to hax levels.

I reckon NZ would gladly take Kohli /Rahane /Vijay for Boult.

KW wouldn't replace Rohit. Kohli would just drop Pujara from 3 instead.

I don't think NZ would give us Boult for Gambhir. And tbh, outside of Boult, Henry, KW and maybe Ross/BJ, I can't think of any NZ cricketer who would make the current Indian test side.

and on what planet are rohit and saha better than ross and BJ?

they're both better than kohli ffs

and i'd cut your dick off before handing over trent "would be the greatest indian quick ever" boult for some bloke who won't score a run in nz

you can have sodhi and jeets back for free so i don't have to keep reading about them in the nz domestic thread or relevant tour threads

Reckon Wagner for Vijay might be an interesting trade. NZ would win it on value you'd think, however i'd back India to find another opener much easier than them finding a good left arm seamer.

can you imagine border-gavaskar tests with indian paceman neil wagner bouncing and sledging the aussies (and actually being good at it unlike the varun aarons of this world) at 135kph troll speed being egged on by that **** kohli?

steve smiths wahhhh would be beautiful

Aaron prefers seeing blood rather than wahs.
