No Dembele or Kane and they're properly dominating the odds on title favourites after a midweek game in Russia.

Really nice move to get Aguero in there though.

it did feel like last season after KDB got injured when I saw fernando and navas on today's team sheet

Well done Spurs. City looked pretty jaded on the whole, but no doubting that Spurs got the tactics for this one absolutely right.

I like how Sean Dyche sounds like he's swallowed a bag of gravel. Not quite on the Paul Lambert level of interview hilarity, but quite amusing nonetheless.

God help us if other teams copy Burnley's six at the back and four just in front tactics.

I mean they are fully entitled to but from a watchability standpoint it's brutal.
Their setup was far from the most defensive I've seen, I think it gave Arsenal about the right amount of respect. What made them so turgid was how much better they were at defending than they were on the ball. Vokes is so far below PL class. Textbook 'scored a goal in an international tournament' bum signing.

Arsenal weren't great either tbf. I'm a bit of an Iwobi sceptic. His output is decent for his age but I don't see the technical or physical ability that would suggest a lot of room to improve on it.

Type of game where you miss Giroud. Can imagine him scoring both in a comfortable 2-0 win against Burnley and everyone complaining that he does it in 'easy' games.

Yeah, thought at the time that it was the kind of match that he would have been useful in.

Never ceases to amaze me how, when the passing game fails, Arsenal's go to tactic against physical/well drilled defensive teams appears to be to hit hopeful crosses into the area towards a load of forwards who are all about 5ft9.

Granted they got lucky with it at the end of the game yesterday, but it always surprises me how they don't seem to have caught on to the fact that head height balls into the box will 99 times out of a 100 be won by a 6ft4 centre back rather than Theo Walcott.

Haha, speaking of which, I notice that Hal Robson-Kanu hasn't exactly set the world alight since joining Brom.

I've a number of friends who are fans of Reading, and they're astounded he managed to find a team at all, let alone one in the Premiership. They are adamant that he is absolutely terrible.

Don't think we hit that many crossing considering out territorial dominance and possession tbh. Did think we were probably a bit too impatient in possession at times though, probably a bit keen to replicate the performances against Chelsea and Basel when it was never going to be the same type of game.

Side point, but for all the talk about how the winner proves we need video technology etc, most analysis and punditry decided to sidestep the two strong penalty claims Arsenal had for, coincidentally, handball late in the 2nd half. I wonder why.

Yeah first I saw of them yesterday and they don't look like relegation material. West Ham and Stoke are the worst teams I've seen by far but at some point they'll probably sack their managers and rebound. Burnley and especially Hull have a lot of room to get worse.
They gave us trouble going man to man against us. If you want to beat Liverpool it's not just about beating the press but winning all the contests as a team. That's why we've been good in terms of shutting other teams down.

Second half we got better but Swansea has had the best performance against us till now.

Arsenal have been jammy the last few weeks. Either they'll improve and have a good season by not looking back or stop getting results and have everybody talking negatively about papering over the cracks. Been that kind of start.

Kinda guessed Tottenham would give City their first real test. Son has done well to keep their prospects alive. Not sure it'll last without Kane though.

Was quite happy to see Burnley getting a rough call there, deserved nothing. They didn't even seem interested in getting out of their own half for most of the game, and their 18-yard box in the last 20 minutes.
