Easy to say now that he's put a few runs on the board (and I'm sure that posting this will promptly lead to his dismissal), but I think some of the concern expressed re Latham this morning was premature. His record this year isn't good, but you've got to remember that his two series besides Zimbabwe were SA against a well-rested and fired up Steyn and Philander (not far off the toughest examination for an opener in the history of test cricket) and Australia, on a pair of day 1 green-tops. He hasn't done well, but those are extremely challenging circumstances and few modern openers would've prospered in the circumstances.
