Don't normally post on CC at this hour but it's end of quarter and Mrs Burgey is still on the phone closing some deals here, and I don't want to bother her because if she does, I'll get to close the deal later.

Some nz nobody needs to do a mark butcher and play a massive tag innings here to get them home before fading into obscurity/ back to their normal mediocrity.

It really could be anyone in their line up

Reckon this test shows the essential quality for a spinner in India is accuracy, more so than most other countries. Teams often try and get a guy who rags it square, but better to have a bloke who can vary his pace and hit good areas.

Really good day for NZ. Hope Jadeja and Saha troll some runs and get us to 300, otherwise I don't think this is a par score.

Such a **** shot from Kohli.

The commentators pissed me off too. When Kohli got out they were like "Oh wow, what a catch, big wicket for NZ, they must be overjoyed at getting such a prolific batsman out"

When Nohit gets out (admittedly to a good ball and a good catch), "Oh has he caught it? Is it a clean catch?"

But when Che gets out they are like "oh dear, thats the third time Pujara has crossed 50 and not converted it this series, how disappointing"

What a bunch of ****ing pricks

Holy **** did they actually say that about Che?

Disgusting, only just got back from work but I'm so happy to see real MVP batsmen got scores and the jokers didn't.

Absolutely. A place like Australia or England, you need to do a bit more with it, but when the pitch is turning, any extra effort you put into ripping the ball is pointless and will just lead to more bad balls. A little bit of turn is all you need to take the edge/beat the bat.

I've been thinking about this sort of theory lately in regards to quicks as well, in particular guys like Mitchell Starc, when bowing on greentops. Starc may be quicker and more dangerous in average conditions, but when all you need to do is hit the areas and let the pitch do the work then any extra pace and movement is unnecessary. I'd almost rather have a line up of Hazlewood/Siddle/Bird playing on a green top than Starc or Johnson.

Kohli is going to go big soon though. Can feel it, possibly downhill skiing effort but once at least this series he will play a wonder innings and we will all starting believing again. This will be his career IMO, Kevin Pietersen type player. Player of great innings, that no on else on the planet can do but not necessarily a great, great player.

Yep, many English posters have said this for a while. Raw pace in England is basically useless outside of the shithole that is London and their knee high dust bowls.

Watching the highlights package now.

Santa applying sidespin to the ball is nice to see. That LBW shout looked plumb. But didn't get a good view of what Jeets was doing with the ball
