Kuchar smiles too much, hard to get behind someone that does that.
you have the weirdest reasons for disliking people...from everything i have seen and heard, he seems to be a decent guy and obviously a pretty good golfer...is his smile your only concern? :)

No, Mainly all the money I've lost on him in majors is more problematic.

Won a fair bit on other tournaments though, so shouldn't complain too much.

this is different from an established entity like the pga tour where you have a tournament every week for most of the year (enough stars/talents win during the year to offset those out-of-the-blue wins by no-names), olympic golf is an experiment that they are hoping would be popular and successful (especially in the context of the withdrawal from some of the best players in the game) and i think an established star winning will go a long way in having it called a success...my opinion of course...
I like Rose but pro golf in the Olympics is still a bit of a joke as evidenced by the attitude of many of the top players

IMO, it would be much, much better left to the amateurs as there is still a system in place for that unlike, say, tennis

Now that some legit stars contended and won...and also assuming the next one won't be in a zika-infested location, I think the attitudes of some (probably not all) of those top players will change...I don't think there will be any attention on an amateur-only contest...why do you think that will be successful?

I can't decide honestly. America look stronger on paper, but they normally do, I'd love to see another win for Europe, but it's going to be close.

Who gets the picks is another question? For me, Europe will definitely go with Westwood and Pieters, then the final spot is between Kaymer and Knox. Personally I'd go Kaymer for the experience, but not an easy pick for Clarke. As for America, I see them definitely picking Fowler and Watson, and then probably Kuchar to go with them.

FedEx point calcs are way too heavily stacked towards the playoffs IMO

Reed has had a very good year but there is no way he should be top of the standings after just one win

johnson is the one bright spot for the u.s going into the ryder cup (honorable mentions to walker and reed)...but he has never done much in match play so who knows...

Yeah he is to golf what the likes of WG and Hobbs are for cricket. Nicklaus is obviously the Bradman.

Sad news but not a surprise after not teeing off at the Masters.

I really am dead to death this year, but A=nie of course pretty much started modern golf, and Made the Open great again, because the Yanks just didn't come much until he did.

Anyway, think the Yanks will win this time quite easily, just like the dynamism of their side, whilst ours has a lot of rookies, or players past their best. Bemused at Bubba Watson being made 5th captain though, as it's quite well-known in poll-after-poll he's hated by his fellow pro.

Yet I guess they're going for that Boo Weekley, J.B. Holmes redneck feel of 2008, didn't really work at Medinah with Bubba involved though. Yet I expect the atmosphere to be ghastly with MAGA idjits shouting all over the place, may not watch much if so. Yet it's an odd comp that I often feel that way about before, but draws me in.

He is right but means the atmosphere will be even more hostile. Always love hearing those first pairs later today. Can't wait for it.
