I think the team with Hanif as keeper is actually a strong one for a DBC simulation. I'm not sure having a sub par keeper would hurt a team much in a video game simulation. That extra specialist batsman could make a huge difference.
Meh wickets for OD cricket was flat even in the Days of Mark Waugh. Hayden was incredible in 07 and while MWaugh was good,he never touched the same levelI never understand Hayden over Waugh. Hayden batted in the era of roads and looked good on false premise, whereas Mark Waugh was Mark Waugh. Mark Waugh was also at times (when needed too) a killer bowler.
And, you would not play 3 finals at WA, SA and NSW. SA or WA has to go because you know one HAS to be played at the MCG...HAS to. Australian cricket doesn't exist but for the MCG crowds.
Somewhere in Barbados I guess.Where is Joel Garner?
Great sides but I would be tempted to replace Gayle with Lara or Jayasuriya. Its the weekends and my friends are out doing boring stuff like socializing and hanging out with chicks I've decided to stay in my room and pick AT XI's. So i was thinking of a 3 match ODI world series between Aust AT XI and ROW AT XI and here it goes
Aust
A Gilchrist +
M Hayden
R Ponting*
D Martyn
A Symonds
M Bevan
S Watson
S Warne
B Lee
M Starc
G McGrath
12th man- M Johnson
ROW
C Gayle
S Tendulkar
V Richards
V Kohli
AB DeVilliers
MS Dhoni +*
A Flintoff
W Akram
S Bond
C Ambrose
M Muralidaran
12th man- S Akthar
The ROW is not necessary a AT world xi minus Aust players but i sort of picked blokes who lifted the game while playing against Aust like Bond and Flintoff. 3 ODers will be played at the WACA, Adelaide oval and SCG in that order. Both teams would go in with all pace attacks for Perth which means both Warne and Murali will miss out the opening game.
Now i'm sad that i can't watch this. Can anyone sim this?
As I said the ROW is not necessarily a AT world xi minus Aussies. I'd pick Sanath in that team but I think Gayle came good more often against Aus than SanathGreat sides but I would be tempted to replace Gayle with Lara or Jayasuriya.
