The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

I just made up the batting orders as best I could but these are the first 11 picked. Some teams with probably change things with a 12th man but \_/

Just checked - Hanif kept wicket in 3 Tests and made 2 catches. In 'reality' he would be pretty ordinary standing- up to Lohmann and Faulkner, and mediocre standing-back to the pace of Marshall and Procter. Otherwise Streaker has a great team.

Howe's team by a reasonable margin.

I think the team with Hanif as keeper is actually a strong one for a DBC simulation. I'm not sure having a sub par keeper would hurt a team much in a video game simulation. That extra specialist batsman could make a huge difference.

Yeah it looks like Streaker's has chosen his team with Test Averages in mind. I feel like in a simulation he'l run away with it

it doesn't really affect things in International Cricket Captain

Its the weekends and my friends are out doing boring stuff like socializing and hanging out with chicks I've decided to stay in my room and pick AT XI's. So i was thinking of a 3 match ODI world series between Aust AT XI and ROW AT XI and here it goes

Aust

A Gilchrist +
M Hayden
R Ponting*
D Martyn
A Symonds
M Bevan
S Watson
S Warne
B Lee
M Starc
G McGrath
12th man- M Johnson

ROW

C Gayle
S Tendulkar
V Richards
V Kohli
AB DeVilliers
MS Dhoni +*
A Flintoff
W Akram
S Bond
C Ambrose
M Muralidaran

12th man- S Akthar

The ROW is not necessary a AT world xi minus Aust players but i sort of picked blokes who lifted the game while playing against Aust like Bond and Flintoff. 3 ODers will be played at the WACA, Adelaide oval and SCG in that order. Both teams would go in with all pace attacks for Perth which means both Warne and Murali will miss out the opening game.

Now i'm sad that i can't watch this. Can anyone sim this?

I never understand Hayden over Waugh. Hayden batted in the era of roads and looked good on false premise, whereas Mark Waugh was Mark Waugh. Mark Waugh was also at times (when needed too) a killer bowler.

And, you would not play 3 finals at WA, SA and NSW. SA or WA has to go because you know one HAS to be played at the MCG...HAS to. Australian cricket doesn't exist but for the MCG crowds.

Meh wickets for OD cricket was flat even in the Days of Mark Waugh. Hayden was incredible in 07 and while MWaugh was good,he never touched the same level

Great sides but I would be tempted to replace Gayle with Lara or Jayasuriya.

As I said the ROW is not necessarily a AT world xi minus Aussies. I'd pick Sanath in that team but I think Gayle came good more often against Aus than Sanath

Yeah but didn't Lara do it more often? And he has opened a fair bit over his career. I think it was Marc here who pointed it out and I have pretty much had those two opening my AT ODI XI ever since.

I'd bring in Lara for Kohli & probably Kapil Dev for Flintoff. Also Garner in for Bond seems smart, but either way, your World XI is still totally boss Gob.

My own result I'm pretty okay with. KP could and did make Murali look like a club bowler on occasion. So long as he makes up for it by getting bowled by innocuous trash for 23 for the rest of the tournament like he would in reality.

Other result (Anwar 5 wickets) kinda hits we're full steam ahead on random bullshit
