Fletcher being on the radar is left field. I'd have thought they'd put Seifert and Blundell in opposing teams.

And does Chapman score runs with shots in front of square or is he a scoop specialist? I swear he pulls out that shot in 75% of the highlights deliveries I've ever seen him face.

Is Todd Astle a good player of spin, or a "good player of spin", or neither? Because I mean...Ronchi...

Your boy will play for NZ at some stage, no question of that. His competition, or lack thereof, is one factor. He's in a race between Glenn P (if he decides to be a keeper bat), Fletcher, Blundell for who can evolve from a mid 20s average, one innings a month sort of operator into the national limited overs keeper when old man Ronchi is finally put down.

I don't think we can rule out Watling, especially if Elliott's replacement ends up being Neesham rather than Nicholls. Watling could take the Elliott role with the bat and the Ronchi role with the gloves, while Neesham could take the Ronchi role with the bat and Elliott's sixth bowling role. Between them they've got the current roles in the team covered. Same would apply if Elliott's replacement was effectively Sodhi with Santner pushed up the order, too.

I think Seifert will end up playing a lot for NZ too, but there's a lot to like about a 5-8 of something like Watling-Anderson-Neesham-Santner or Watling-Anderson-Santner-Sodhi immediately after Ronchi and Elliott are gone.

Since their early exit from the WC England have invested heavily domestically in developing their white ball product. T20 Strike Rates have impacted on the 50 over game and the England Lions " A" team programme is producing the goods today as Atherton describes. Where is NZ's A programme for the Seiferts,Phillips, O'Donnells and Co.?

Youngsters can slam door on Morgan | Sport | The Times & The Sunday Times

"...........this generation has grown up with Twenty20. Smashing the ball from the outset, scooping, switch-hitting, reverse sweeping, ramping and charging without fear of the consequences are as natural to them as the breathing of air...........T20 came to England almost a decade before that, so they have developed by watching batting as an explosive and dynamic, rather than aesthetic, form."

AUCKLAND ACES vs CENTRAL STAGS

Yeah sort of armsy and maybe not international-grade holding of shapes, most of his shots in front of square.

Jeets returning to NZ with another trophy, in what was otherwise a so-so year for Warwicks.

Bowling figures in the Royal London One-Day Cup QF / SF / Final:
7.1-32-3
10-43-5
9-28-2

One more FC game to go and he is top of the Championship wicket taking list, 64 wickets @ 24.

That's quite a big game still to come for Jeets isn't it, because Warwickshire aren't completely safe from relegation.

Quinn, on the other hand, will definitely be in this new eight team Div 1 with Essex.

Yeah digging deeper I see he's actually played a bit more for Howick-Pak's top side than I knew, I guess just when work permits.

Cachopa should go to Otago, their batting order looks flat (including imported "could have beens," AKA Kitchen and Wilson). They've been victims of having no depth.

Auckland finally look to have a little young talent in their side, with Phillips, O'Donnell and Chapman hanging around. For Cachopa to come in and 1 of those guys drop out would be frustrating. Then there's Wellington.. Not sure they will have him back, after his 2 failed stints here.
