Reckon Athers might be on to something there. Where the batsmen is at the point of release should help dictate a wide.

Buttler needs to stand still here, Wahab is bowling line and lengths so the scope with fine leg back is poor thinking.

That is where Buttler is the world's best. That low full toss/yorker over extra cover.

Who would have thunk the world record falling to England! Hales, Root, Buttler, and Morgan, take a bow!

Second half of Buttler's dig has been thoroughly mediocre by his (admittedly lofty) standards. He was 53 (22). To only add another 37 off 29 from there would be quite disappointing for him.

Seemed like the batsmen were at the wrong ends for a chunk there: Buttler couldn't hit Riaz but was monstering Amir, and Morgan was somewhat of the inverse.

Thoughts on a team of Roy, Ali, Root, Morgan, Bairstow, Buttler, Stokes, Woakes, Plunkett, Rashid, Wood for the next game?
Madness as Hales has averaged over 60 this year at a strike-rate of 93 in ODI's, also 3 tons in his last 12 innings.
I agree that he has been quality in ODIs this year and should definitely be in the team long term, he just looks so out of nick at the moment that a time away from the spotlight and feeding himself a diet of county medium pace may do him good for the rest of the season.

Never forget.

Buttler lost his shape so, so much in that innings. But it's incredible that he can look insanely rusty and still plonk out 90* (51).
