Stunningly, it turns out to be a good idea to use your bat to balls heading straight for off stump.
i think because these guys all grew up watching warne they refuse to believe that the ball won't spin but look

Who'd have thought? Wonder if Usman's been taking lessons from Michael Clarke?

What happened to getting to the pitch of the ball?

Lyon's away average is 33.58
That's surprisingly good for an Australian finger spinner.

By comparison Herath's away average is 41.44

Make of it what you will...
Lyons away matches in the SC are on pitches where he should be the main weapon of the attack. He's failed comprehensively every chance he's had so far.

Unless these shits figure out how to read the straighter ball, Jadeja will completely **** them up when they come to India.

To be fair to him, every time he's looked below average they've dropped him immediately and he's never had a chance to actually improve. I think it was in the UAE that this was quite apparent. Had one poor test in which Aus were trounced and he was dropped immediately for a random leggie IIRC.

I think you mean India? They dropped him for Doherty there.

That's not necessarily right, because Lyon's style is suited to bouncy wickets (i.e. Aus). It's Holland who's been really disappointing.
Secondly, his best innings figures were taken India, so it's not like he never performs there.
