cook is one of the best players of spin of his generation. but i'd pick warner everywhere else but england.
You can't be being serious? Cook is one of the best players in Asia in the history of the game.

EDIT - Warner is currently the better player for sure, but Cook in Asia is a certainty. I would really consider Warner over Cook in England though.

thats not true is it?

been lethal in south africa and always scored decently in england without ever really pushing on. easily the best opener going.
Averages 60 at home, 36 away

Pretty big difference there, even if you can't really say "only" scores at home

Compare to Steve Smith, Who averages pretty much the same home as away. Warner strikes me as having the kind of mental weakness where simply being literally away from your home (ie in another country, away from family etc) upsets his game.

sorry think you've misunderstood. my comment that cook is one of the best players of spin going was me agreeing that i'd take him over warner in asia everytime.

I like Warner, great to watch and can really take the game away from you. But let's not pretend he's anywhere close to Cook on the subcontinent. Cook led his team to a series victory in India ffs... Warner hasn't come close to any achievement like that.

Last bit seems a massive assumption considering he's always killed it in the IPL. Think he mostly struggles in this form with slower pitches.

this feels like local cricket with TPC walking out without a lid

"is that their captain? **** i think it is. he did the coin toss yeah?"
*ball is bowled*
(sheepishly) "uh australia's captain lads"

Fair enough, my bad. Cook's average in England is quite low though, English conditions really accentuate his weaknesses.

Big wicket that, understand Aussies being positive though.

Strange, Australia look very rushed. Why are they so jumpy at the crease? Should just bide their time. The Warner dismissal stayed low but the rest seem pretty innocuous.

MDK Perera to Khawaja, OUT, Khawaja falls to a positive stroke. Lots of flight on middle, Khawaja could have come forward to defend but Australia have rightly decided to be positive. So. Khawaja looks to sweep this. Probably saw the flight and got down but that ball was way too full to be sweeping. The ball sneaks under his bat and strikes him plumb in front of middle and leg. Walks off straight away
Lmao. Careless from both Khawaja and crapinfo.

lol of course it's a massive assumption. It's absolute speculation and just as likely to complete rubbish. I thought it was clear that I wasn't implying it was a certainty.

You are involved at a substantial level of club cricket, where I am there is no guarantee that the captain did the toss

Aus playing the right way. I think they've got more chance bludgeoning their way to 260 than nurdling the ball around.

Yes obviously it was an assumption, emphasis was on massive.
