I don't even know what to think. Aside from the fact that I've spent a good part of my life as a Bulls fan hating on Wade, we now have probably one the least efficient back courts in the L. GarPax making desperation moves to save their jobs and blowing it, is all I can think of to explain this ****.

So if guys like Mirotic, Gibson and whomever they have on the frontcourt aren't hot, that's goodbye scoring

Hey there are always fast breaks!

I think Butler will be a better shooter this year. There were too many distractions last year and he wasn't always healthy.

he really doesn't shoot much from the 3 though...i looked at his stats from last season and he had an overall conversion % of 46.2 and a 3 point % of 52...

He had a below average true shooting percentage last season, which was also his career low and it has been on a steady decline over the last few years. Don't really see an argument for Wade being an efficient scorer, especially now in an offense that has 3 below average shooters in Rondo, Butler and himself.

In theory, there is a way it could work. Rondo is coming of a season in which he shot 36 percent from beyond the arc, which is right at the league average. Butler shot just 31 percent last year, but the year before, he connected on 38 percent of his three-pointers. Wade is a cunning cutter. If Nikola Mirotic starts at power forward, the Bulls can build an offense in which Rondo and Wade take turns as the primary ball handlers, with Mirotic and Butler spacing the floor and
Robin Lopez either diving on pick and rolls or roaming the baseline.

You forgot Mirotic.
I didn't forget him, but he's the only good shooter from the arc in your top what, 8 players?

No doubt they will find ways to score, Wade and Rondo have huge Basketball IQ's and a wealth of experience. The point is that they won't do it at anywhere near an efficient rate and haven't gotten better for all the money they threw out. One player "spacing the floor" = not spacing the floor. If you can double off anyone beyond 20ft to Mirotic then what's the point? A guard guarding Rondo can cheat under the screen almost every time with absolutely no worry.

Also how are they all gonna play together? Rondo without the ball is entirely pointless, Wade had serious issues giving up the ball once LeBron left (which made Dragic useless as well) and then there's Jimmy Butler. You think he's going to be happy standing in the corner by himself like it's 2012 again? I dunno, I think the fit of them is awful.

Just quoting the article. Maye if one of the, decides they want to be a sixth man, I can't see this offense working with much efficiency

Its a good idea but the only one I think could work as a sixth man would be Wade and we know he isn't gonna be doing that. A lineup with Rondo-Butler-McDermott-Mirotic-Lopez is a little bit better I guess. Awful defensively though. Just such a weird off-season for them. It looked like they were gonna let Pau and Noah walk, trade Rose and play out free agency at the back end with cheaper guys who were undervalued byt he market but then at the last minute they pivoted and threw money at guys on bad deals who are on the downside of their careers. So strange.

I would make Rondo 6th man and start with Grant-Wade-Butler-Mirotic-Lopez just to split up some of the Wade & Rondo minutes. The problem with the Bulls is that Butler is going to have to play around 40 minutes a night at an all-star level because none of other starters should play above 25 minutes unless they are hot.

Bringing Rondo off the bench would be terrible IMO, he would play so much worse with bench players just because his game is almost entirely dribbling the ball until someone else makes a play and gets open.

This is one of those things that you knew was coming forever, but it still feels weird thinking of the Spurs, or even the NBA in general without Timmy. I know a lot of people are jumping on the "Lebron's the 2nd best after MJ" bandwagon right now, and making it seem like he's about ready to overtake MJ even, and I don't argue too much about it because this was a very emotional and redeeming win for him and means a lot to his fans, but to me there's no case for anybody but Tim to be the 2nd best since MJ. But thanks to MJ, people and sports media in general really tend to overvalue perimeter players over legitimately great bigs. As a result people don't give him enough credit. He made Pop, not the other way around. He made the Spurs teams great the way Lebron makes every team he's on great. He just never left to make the superteam that was offered to him so people didn't see the impact of him leaving would've had on the Spurs.

We'll miss you Timmy. You were all heart underneath that robotic goodness.
