And replace it with a hard court major in Beijing?

Anyway we'd still have a huge backlog of matches even with one roof. It would have stopped TV people talking about it though, the damage would merely be shifted to sub-top-10 players and travelling fans whom no one cares about anyway.
Wimbledon had the same problems pre the roof so it's had years of coping with bad weather..at least the French don't have Cliff Richard singing when the rains came..

In news from the comeback trail, Ash Barty knocked out Daniela Hantuchová in a non-WTA grass warm-up tournament at Eastbourne - after Hantuchová had beaten Laura Robson in the first round.

Hope she's better equipped to handle the tour this time around :)

Did rain only fall on one side of the court.. how come their opponents weren't so affected by the conditions?

Yeah GoffinGulbis both decided to walk off as the thought the conditions were ****.. Halep and Aggie should have done similar, a;though how the hell do you losw ten games in a row to pironkova on clay:laugh:

So happy for Bertens. Sounds like she just swept aside Keys.

Wonder what you can get on all four outsiders to win the QFs. Probably the 15 on Putintseva multiplied by three evens.

Berdman has the perfect game to flog Ferrer. Did it in Madrid too.

Man Muzz has lost the plot this set. Gasquet has to capitalise now and win it

Djokovic v Berdych in a quarter final, what a truly uninspiring quarter final that will be.

However will actually go out of my way to watch Goffin v Thiem as that could be absolutely unmissable if they both bring their a game.

Fancy Thiem to win though, think he has a slightly higher level than Goffin.

Goffin's forehand is truly dire, many WTA players would smash winners off it. Think Thiem's ceiling is much higher than him TBH.

Berdych will do his usual QF capitulation against a top player, might just about take one set to a tiebreak. Ultimate flat-track bully.

Would like Reeshard to upset Andy here, he's been excellent in this tournament so far. But I think it will go 4 or 5 sets and Murray's superior fitness will see him through.

Muzz saving break points in that second set crucial.

Needs to can the drop shot strategy for a while though

Stan and Gasman have had some amazing slam matches, they had a last 16 match here a few years ago which was quality and the best match of Wimbledon in the quarter finals last year, so would have no beef with that as a semi final.

I haven't been hugely impressed with Murray here and for most of the Slam, very sloppy, actually think Stan would beat him reasonably comfortably.

These wet, heavy conditions are going to really, really favour Wawrinka going forward in this tournament. Just needs to keep his head in place and ensure he doesn't get dragged into long matches.

What a rally! Gasquet should have put him away about four times, incredible defense and reflexes at the net by Murray.
