Yeah that is a bit pathetic. Look they showed a bit of fight I guess which is the most that could be expected from the position they were in..........but it's certainly a stretch to call it "great"

TBH, I still fancy an innings win from here but even if the Lankans do keep up the battle I can't see England having to chase more than 100 at most to win.

Great indeed sounds overdone. But 300/5 is simply a very nice 3rd innings score. Nearly always.

I think being a bit harsh on them... it was a 'great effort' considering the pressure they were under to not fail again.....not a great batting innings, by any stretch (I don`t think Mahela was saying that). If they had come close to scoring 300 runs in any of their previous 3 innings it may just have put Eng under a little pressure. The problem is doing it now, has had little impact in this match/series.

Yeah I see where your coming from stphndbsn........but the other side to that is it just makes their first innings score even more diabolical. I know there was a bit more sun yesterday so may have been a tad easier to bat on, but the ball really hasn't done anything special the whole test.
