Hbk vs Taker, TLC 2, Taker vs Mankind HIAC, Sasha vs Bayley at Brooklyn (to show that women's wrestling can be epic too).

If I had to pick a conventional tag match I'd go with one of Jericho/Benoit vs HHH /Austin or Shield vs Wyatts Elimination Chamber 2014

Yeah, all super good shouts.

Rock vs HHH at Backlash a pretty good one as well.

And "the old Stone Cold" moment from the invasion too.

I've probably asked this before, but if you had to choose a match to show someone to get them into wrestling, what would it be?
Money in the Bank 2011: John Cena vs. CM Punk would be a good shout too.

Tanahashi vs. Okada at WK10 was probably the best match I've seen personally, but I think people might appreciate matches like that a bit more after being a wrestling fan for a while.

i think punk-cena is maybe a bit too long for this. parts of it the whole thing (the pipe bomb, the pre-match promo, the entry and finish works well, but the actual thing is like 40 minutes long i think?

of course, this is actually the greatest moment in wrestling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Piez6-_EOQc

I thought about Cena vs Punk too, but I think a lot of what made that match great would be lost on someone who doesn't already have an in depth knowledge of wrestling and a general awareness of how the WWE operates behinds the scenes.

It was a great match in its own right, no doubt. But what made the whole thing so good was the whole pipebomb thing and how what transpired was totally unprecedented at the time.

Yep. It's still fun to watch but without that context it isn't as special.

That's why TLC 2 is the top pick for me. It's frantic, violent, and doesn't need any background story. It's not quite the best match ever but it's possibly the most easy one to enjoy.

I think spot fest matches in general are probably the best way to start getting into wrestling tbh. A n00b who has no real idea what is going on would probably find something like Benoit v Angle as boring as hell. But as a kid I always used to love the hardcore/gimmick matches the most. My interest in the wider product just kind of grew out of that.

Cody asked for his release today.

I always liked him, but if honest won't miss him that much, not been that entertained by him for a long time.

I'd expect him back in a few years anyhow.

I think he is one of the few on lower-midcard that would be sitting at the top of the card somewhere else. Has the potential to be one of the greats and wish him the best.

So Cody's gone now, I'm usually against guys citing they should be in the championship picture as a reason for being dissatisfied, but Cody is someone I'll make an exception for. Lived and breathed wrestling and had so many really stand out moments when given the ball to run with. Hope he still has a bright future in the business or in acting, definitely one of the better actors to grace the business in a long time.
