Now that I think about it why is the name Dickwella found funny when 'Dick' is a popular English (or American) name?

So not only was the England U19 attack pretty promising this year, Aaron Beard was sitting at home, surplus to requirements.

So good to see big Jesse Ryder amble up and get a couple of wickets

Why is he batting so low down the order?

Combination of having consistently underperformed with the bat for Essex, and workload management (given he's a front-line seamer), I suspect. Essex bat ridiculously deep when they play Ryder as a genuine all-rounder and have a couple of other bowling options amongst the batsmen (Bopara, Westley, R10D)

Ryder's discovery of the "agribusiness" cheat code in 2012 has a lot to do with it.

He wants another shot in Test cricket "more than anything" now though, so yeah, it is a shame he's not going to try and get in there at No. 5 tonight and make a ton against New Zealand's most frequent of red ball foes.

George Garton's double wicket maiden - Videos | ICC U19 Cricket World Cup

A bookie to quote me some odds on a dominant England throughout the 2020s, perhaps.

English kids finally developing an appropriate level of feral and assertive traits, like the difference in vibe between say Henman and Murray. Just as England's often stiff and frigid butter starts to thaw and become more spreadable, Australia's turns liquid and rancid, losing five straight Ashes series.

So, Dhammika's injured again? Sucks for SL, but they're probably still the best bowling attack in the world.

Presumably we can put a lid on what de Silva can do as a spinner. Came on after Karunaratne who has 1 wicket in 100+ first class games.

More new ball wickets second innings for the distinctly beardless Beard

Hard to imagine a worse start for the Lankan's. Lawrence needed those runs, has had a poor start to the season.

I swear this happens everytime Sri Lanka tour England. They get utterly smashed by a county odds and sods bowling attack then actually prove to be surprisingly competitive for the real stuff.
