My biggest issue with the IPL is definitely the lack of Pakistani and English players.

The bigger issue is the amount of foreigners sitting out.Adding Pakistani and English players to the mix would probably worsen the situation.
Either have more teams or have a cap on foreign players or increase the no. of foreign starters in the playing XI which would be an easier solution.Bit of a joke to see many class players sit out pretty much every game.

Disagree. Adding these guys would weed out the weaker foreign players like Henriques who usually just get a gig because of balance reasons. There's not that much class sitting out atm anyways.

There are a lot of weaker foreign players getting games too. Henriques, Brathwaite, Miller, Duminy, Morris, out of practice Mitchell Johnson, even Eoin Morgan is looking surplus to requirements

Good Players sitting out: Hogg, Guptill, Hastings, Imran Tahir, Narine (? injured), Steyn I guess

Hogg, Hastings and Tahir aren't really awesome international players sitting out either. Just good T20 cricketers, nothing more.

you may be right, I think he's like 45 now. Wouldn't be surprised if he's lost a bit. He was virtually unplayable back in the day though.

Good Players sitting out: Hogg, Guptill, Hastings, Imran Tahir, Narine (? injured), Steyn I guess

Duminy was very good for Delhi last year and has always been pretty handy in this format so he most certainly is not a weaker player. Mediocre in tests but not here. Miller for the last few years has been very good for Punjab (while hit and miss for Saffers), however the captaincy along with his poor form is ensuring he is not enjoying himself whatsoever.

Johnson was a farce last year in this format and is even worse this year. Henriques is absolutely blessed, but heh its not his fault that the owners decided not to bother signing any other overseas all rounders.

Hastings is injured and was getting a gig before that, Narine is been eased back in while Hogg gets plenty of games depending on the surface. Tahir was poor enough last year where he cost plenty of money, while the less said about Steyn the better. He is bloody lucky he got a contract this time around

Morris keeps exceeding my expectations. While his bowling has always looked good and fast (if sometimes wayward) apparently he has worked really hard on his batting, which is showing. Natural timer of the ball. SA may just have a decent all-rounder in the end for our limited over setup and we can be done with Wiese...

Obviously a fantastic innings, but you can't judge a player on one freak innings

He did something similar in SA against England.. not quite as big but still. But as I said he is exceeding my expectation and has obviously worked hard on his batting.... SA can but hope (if he gets into the team above Berhardien though!!!)

Sometimes I think the only reason guys like Behardien, Thirimanne. Ishant etc. exist and continue to get picked is so that we can laugh at how **** they are and harbour some hope, however faint, that we ourselves might get picked for our countries some day.

Dont be surprised if this comes true.... Sad thing is Behardien was picked on merit and he has not done terribly overall.... he just looks such a hack (and is). But SA will probably keep going with him for their own reasons...
