Norwood's on Fire
Meh day for us, obviously want to overtake them, but Wimbledon are in the prime position to make the P-O place, if we can't do it, would be kinda epic to see them in the same division as the Dongs next season.

Anyway, note to self, try not being a bastard to Gimp for the next few days, must be utterly gutted, and even I'm not that cruel.
Losing twice at home to that lot in the same season, ridiculous. We got what we deserved today. Nine home defeats tells its own tale, we've been too ****ing stupid to adapt to the way teams play at our gaff. Away from home we've been fine all season.

Oh well, unless the stars align then another year of this **** it is. Second half of the season has been a lot better so if we can keep the key players and add some quality then maybe we'll actually have a crack next season. But another year of sides with 24 away fans coming here on their big day out and going home with the points just makes me feel queasy.

**** sport

Pretty sure he had a decent record of them to be honest. I can certainly remember quite a few....

Yep it's what people don't get unless they've experienced it, players come to these games against once established League teams and play like it's a cup match, whilst they couldn't give a **** when playing someone like Braintree.

It's just such a frustrating division.

I think my two favourites were the one he scored against Everton in his last game for United and one he scored at Old Trafford at a time where there was that rule where dissent was punished by moving the free kick 10 yards forward. Beckham wasn't pleased because this moved the free kick to pretty much on the 18 yard line where it's hard to get it up then down, so he just smashed it into the top corner at the keeper's side instead.

I wish you'd tell some of our fans this because they don't believe it.

I liked that rule. Why didn't it stick?

BTW Scaly going in with the bold view that Beckham wasn't good at free-kicks is surely just something that doesn't dignify a response.

Booking players for it would work just as well if a ref had the balls.

Or just outright punching them.

Haha yeah exactly.

Most of football's rules are unwritten. I loved it on Wednesday when Koke was booked for kicking the ball away 5% too far. Because it was only 5% but everyone in the pub immediately recognised that he'd put too much on it and would get a yellow. I think he just meant to boot it the standard distance, but overcooked it slightly. Rugby has official rules like "no touching the ball after giving away a penalty". In football it's "you may kick it away by 8 yards, but definitely not 8.5", and although it's unwritten we all know immediately when it's been broken.

Still looks very tight for that last play off spot. If Eastleigh lose to Halifax and/or if Grimsby lose to Woking then Tranmere definitely still have a chance.

As I see it, the remaining fixtures are:

Next Week: Eastleigh vs. Tranmere, Grimsby vs. Chester, Wrexham vs. Braintree
Final Week: Tranmere vs. Grimsby, Braintree vs. Altrincham, Woking vs. Eastleigh

Braintree should beat Altrincham, and Grimsby should beat Chester, but Tranmere have two effective six-pointers.

The race is still on. But perhaps less so if Eastleigh and Grimsby both win their games in hand.

Hopefully for your sake Grimsby still have the 'were a league club' chip on their shoulder and wont play the way many clubs have at yours.

Also hope Alty can do you a favour, as they are in dire need of it to stand a chance of staying up.
