**Official* IPL 2016

Whatever it takes!!!
There is a massive following. Huge crowds, dedicated fans and it's on every where on tv when one steps out of the home. During KKR games, roads and restaurants are emptier (like I found out two days back) as people are watching in the stadium or at home.

cricket is always on TV in INdia... The crowds have been lesser than past IPL games at the same time and then there is a small matter of tremors which would cause people being indoors than just to catch cricket on TV which they wud probably do in a restaurant anyways.. 8-)

BTW, here is something interesting..

Most stadiums have had great crowds. Eden didn't. We have had a massive heat wave this time which is breaking all records which has some thing to do with the people going less to the stadiums I guess. The poll is a bit pointless. You can't ascertain any thing from such a small sample size.

Nah.. you can draw conclusions coz its the real cricket fanatics who take the time to hit a website to see cricket news. When they are saying they are fatigued of T20 cricket, you can imagine what those less interested will feel, esp. when games are being as uninteresting as the games we have had so far.

It's quite a small sample size compared to actual number of fans who watch, so no.

Yes, I can't imagine the IPL losing enough interest of the population as a whole to necessitate downsizing.

There will always be millions of people in India wanting to watch or go to the IPL

SMH have 3 injuries apparently - Yuvraj, KW and Nehra.

Wonder why KKR dropped Munro for Narine but they're still favourites imo.

I'm sure the IPL will pick up again, it is just waiting for that one match or innings that gets things going and in people's conscious.

Munro should feel a little peeved, but to be fair you can't blame them for wanting to have a look at Narine again he could be rubbish if he has to bowl legally, but he has been so important to them you have to at least have a look. Shakib is normally a solid performer for them and Morkel has blown hot and cold, but after the bowlers got smashed the other day you can understand the temptation to give him a chance.

The timeouts (or whatever they're called) really take me out of the game. I change channel and don't come back. T20 is meant to be a quick game but IPL games often feel like they go on for ages.

What often makes me turn it off is poor commentary and the incredibly annoying stadium music.

Same. Always dread watching a game. I follow along on cricinfo and switch it on only if the game seems interesting.

The dancing girls really irritate me. I'm trying to get my niece into cricket (with some success) and she loves IPL in large part and I do give the IPL big credit for rotating in 4 women as comms but seeing women constantly prancing around doing the same dance moves over and over can't help but hint at what her place is 'supposed' to be in cricket.

In South Africa they get guys to dance too don't they? Maybe Australia too?

So what you're saying is that the reason Pakistan cricket is down the shitter is because these cheerleaders they hired in 2009 gave their men the wrong idea of what their place is in cricket?

Why would anyone watch matches that don't involve RCB? If you put all the interesting guys in one team, I am only going to watch their match.
