Was having an interesting discussion with a few die hard IPL fans. They all are feeling a bit bored with this tournament so far. A fan who used to watch every Kings XI Punjab game at least and another who used to watch it almost every night hasn't been enjoying it so far. Possibly as it comes just after the WT20. CSK missing also is a bit of a dampener for core IPL fans I think.

Any ways, I have never been a huge fan of T20 but have developed much more of a liking during the T20 world cup. A key for enjoying it for me is watching a game every 3-4 days instead of every game. I have tried watching 3-4 games in as many days in previous editions and ended up not wanting to watching any more at all after that. Watched the game yesterday and although it was a low scoring one sided game in parts, was nice to see the batting and bowling of various players. There are so many players involved and a fair bit of skill involved, so it's nice to see. I am fine with the length of the tournament actually. For a league to be serious, at least some length is necessary to be there. I would like the tournament to not be in the horrendously hot summer months which aren't nice to play (or watch) at all but I suppose that helps not clash into the test seasons of various countries, so it's a devil I am willing to make a deal with.

It's hilarious how RCB keep ****ing up despite having a brilliant lineup of superstars. So I would like that to continue. Apart from that, I have no dogs in this fight. Wouldn't mind some less-hyped team like SRH or DD winning it for a change.

Tournament is longer because they cut the day games. Probably because of the heat and most people will be at work during afternoon time. I feel as the tournament will progress, there is a possibility of more fans getting detached.

There is a massive following. Huge crowds, dedicated fans and it's on every where on tv when one steps out of the home. During KKR games, roads and restaurants are emptier (like I found out two days back) as people are watching in the stadium or at home.

KXIP is my home-team but I don't feel as strongly for them as I used to because quite simply, they're ****. It's fun and all when Maxi and Miller get going, but that's about it. I like watching RCB and MI. Could watch any of the teams, except KKR and DD. They bore me, especially DD.

While Hyderabad has the slightly better team overall, DD has the better spinners on a slow pitch. I am particularly looking forward to the (Tahir and Mishra) versus (Miller and Maxwell) battle.

I like the dude, but the fact is he has been very inconsistent for Punjab since they opened in the IPL a few years ago in the UAE.
