Eighth fifty of a season still without a century for Young, to go with his seven fifties and one hundred from last season.

NZT, please check your VMs.

Also, Nathan Smith did play for Waitaki Boys in the Gillette Cup yesterday, which might have been a reason why he's carrying the drinks, workload-wise.

Any word on what Soper has done to himself? I saw he didn't complete his 8th over. Means Smith may well get a look in for Whangarei next week anyway.

I saw recently that Jordi Barrett was in the NZ rugby u20 trials squads.

Plus I think he was listed as being from Canterbury.

So probably gone from cricket if he's any good at rugby.

Averaging 40 after topping the wickets chart last season probably gave him a kick he needed. Doesn't want to be the sloppy seconds that Wellington calls in the off-season, after Nathan Smith knocks us back.

Ben Smith has tailed off as the season has gone on.

His dismissal today is as bad as you will ever see for an opener.

Edit: which conveniently - is in the the kippax video above.

From what i here there is a chance that Fults misses the last game of the season due to the birth of a child, which could (if he is not convinced to come back next year) mean this is his last day of domestic cricket.

From a statistical perspective he is about 40 runs off getting 10,000 FC runs.
