Really it was just the openers, everyone else did their job well. Sometimes it happens like that, not sure they were consciously being all that timid.England got it wrong today imo. Went too far the other way (on the aggression stakes). Too timid. Hales especially as to either go on or look to be a bit more aggresive. Still awaiting Nirvana. 2019 CWC hopefully. Runs on the board though so always a chance.
Yeah the openers didn't do enough whatsoever, England need to think about Ali, we seen spinners running riot so far, a spin bully like him is wasted at 7.England got it wrong today imo. Holder isn't the side today.wait Holder and Sammy are both in this XI and neither bowled? Far out lol
Ali is average to poor against spin imo. BUt least he would unabashed go for it (and his game is best suited to opening no doubt) from ball one. I think they'd possibly do that (swap Roy for Billings and open with Ali) if they were a bit more confident in the output they'd get from Billings at 7 but so far he isn't proven on the international level.Yeah the openers didn't do enough whatsoever, England need to think about Ali, we seen spinners running riot so far, a spin bully like him is wasted at 7.
true but he has the advantage of being in teh team currently. should have made the call weeks ago if they were going to do it.I would like that swap, Roy is not proven either.
