A great opportunity squandered and the wait for a win continues...

Not quite sure what happened to the batting. Only one boundary hit after the opening partnership. Hopefully Leask and Taylor get a go next match for MacLeod and Davey.

Yeah Scotland absolutely blew that. Opening partnership was strolling it, but you always sensed that once the wickets started to fall the wheels would come off.

Scotland should have won that but I am extremely happy for Afghanistan and their fans. To see the delight of victory on their faces - best thing ever.

cant believe that Scotland don't do better considering the number of players they have playing in county cricket..they really should perform better than they do..
There isn't one good player among them really and most were stuck playing 2nd team cricket. Rob Taylor and Machan were the only two regulars last year and they are far from standout players.

but yes maybe they should do better considering the ease in which their players can play in the english county game.

coetzer , Davey and Macleod are decent players too..they have a decent structure in place too so would expect more from them..

Hard to believe Scotland were the best associate 10 or so years ago* Some bad coaching choices and a lot of retirements hasn't helped.

* I'd put their 2005-07 team ahead of Kenya.

Coetzer was released by Northants. Averages about 30 in county championship over 80 matches. Davey couldn't get in the somerset team and will probably be released when his contract expires. Macloed possibly too as he failed last year with Durham and was dropped. Main and Leask (this past week) have contracts also but are/will be second teamers. They all very average. They need one or two like Machan or Main or Davey to improve. you'd think mathematically if they keep getting the numbers into county cricket tha eventually some of them will be good.

Don't know enough about the structure/ playing numbers to really comment on that.

Totally forgot about Kenya. Was a decent team those days with Tikolo, Otienos and Odoyo. So sad that they are nowhere in the picture nowadays.

You sure you're not thinking of Tanmay Mishra?
Nah I actually remember watching Aga's debut when he swung it all over the place at 115km/hr. It was a fun gimmick. I just hadn't really processed the fact that it was in 2004 properly until now. :p
